THE FAN 590's Bob McCown is reporting that former Toronto Maple Leafs' captain Mats Sundin has decided to join the New York Rangers. McCown's source, who has intimate knowledge of the situation, expects this decision to made public later this week.

Sundin was the only leaf I ever liked. He was a solid captain for so many years. Always led by example and said and did all the right things. It isn't going to be right to see him with NY.

That said, I never respect any of these guys that take half the year off and then join a contender for there chance at a cup, no matter how deserving they are.

Finally, what would a post in the leaf forum be without some montreal references... I wish MTL got him as he would have been the piece to put them over the top, and in that instance alone, it would have been okay for Mats to sign mid-season

I wanted the Habs to get him in the summer, but the dude doesn't know how to make up his mind. And him going to the Canucks just shows he was in it for the money all along. If he wanted a cup so bad he would've went to Detroit or San Jose for the minimum.

not like i care that his story was wrong. I happended to catch it on the fan's website one night.

It in no way is a reflection of me and/or my sources so meh... quite frankly i don't care about this whole situation. Bobcat does have solid sources though, he often does break stories, I'm a little surprised that this one went the other way but meh... whatever
