At 4.5 per I'm ok with the signing. We now have Komisarek, Schenn, and Exelby on the back end. That is a lot of toughness, hitting, and shotblocking. I wonder if Kaberle is now going to be kept because we have basically zero offense from our blueline.

yea we are goin to tough but like you said venom we also need puck moving defencemen and schenn and komisarek are not those kind of guys..wouldnt mind trading kaberle for kessel tho cuz we kind of need some snipers

Solid signing, the Leafs are a lot tougher on the back. Obviously speed and mobility are issues if indeed Kaberle is dealt, but good work by Burke in one day.

Orr, Exelby, Komisarek, now that's getting tougher

I wouldn't mind keeping Kaberle at this point, unless of course we get something that is impossible to pass up on(top line player+pick)

Habs fan here, this is a great signing by the Maple Leafs...Komisarek is worth the 4 mill per, you guys will love him! He was part of the reason why Markov was so effective with us, he hits, block shots, gets in players faces...Kaberle and whoever is in net just got better with him

I think paying under 5 million for a guy who might lead the league in hits and blocked shots, who'll amass 100+ "good" penalty minutes and pitch in maybe 15-25 points from the back end isn't bad value. There'd been all sorts of "who'll be the next Leafs captain" talk over the past two years and to me, it's a no-brainer that this guy can play that role. I said in the other thread that this is the guy I'd like to see the Leafs go after and conveniently, they did just that.

Defense looks good,
Now we need to deal with the forwards and goaltending.

When you look at what Mattias Ohlund got paid and also Jaroslav Spacek, this really isnt too much.

They were definitely over paid to the extreme. I just hope komisarek proves his worth.

Add Beauchemin to that list now.... Burke is really revamping the defense

I see Stralman on the move for a forward unfortunately
