That it will never happen because the league is selling all offense, all the time, to casuals and newer fans who don't know what real defense is.

If anything, they will institute new rule changes that make it even harder for players to play defense. Like, zero contact allowed at all. :D

Yet, for all the uptick in scoring, this still isn't the highest scoring decade in league history.

The way to go is to allow ZERO CONTACT on defense and to require the use of JAZZ HANDS by the defender

I'm sure there is no coming back from the love of the 3 point shoot but a regular season game between the pacers and hawks with a combined 300 points... Come on!

145-145 at the end of regulation.

The pendulum has swung to far to one side. Even E.T. Silver says that we need more defense in the All Star game.

F*ck that Nosferatu with AIDS looking bitch. More offense. I need to see the 2020s surpass the 1960s as highest scoring decade

As someone who watched Cavs/Nets games back in the day which were 75-67 snooze fests, i can assure you OP, you do not want handchecking back in the sport.

Those Mike Fratello coached Cavs teams were horrific to play against. Slow, awful basketball

Chuck Daly invented it
Riley Knicks implemented it
Fratello Cavs demented it.

He had the SLOWEST offense imaginable.

Sure thing but with finishing a fast break with a 3 pointer, Centers and power forwards shooting 4 3s a game, you would still have a high scoring game.

Derek Harper was the hand check king! But they will never ever bring this back. Too physical for today's game. The LeBron's and KD's would cry about it.
