I'm happy for DeVito. It's a nice story and it's hard not to root for the kid. It reminds of Linsanity. I know it's a different sport and circumstance but it's an out of nowhere expected unknown underdog who went on a little run. But at least Linsanity happened when we had a chance at the playoffs. At 4-8 the season has been over for weeks now so truthfully this DeVito experience means very little. I have never bought into this idea that wins in a losing season are important because he builds moral or culture or there is a carry over to the next season. That's bs imo. These last 2 wins mean very little and won't be remembered (unless you're a DeVito or a huge fan of his). Wins against 2 bad teams in Weeks 11 and 12 in a losing season do not carry over to next season.

But as fans we have no control. Players do not tank. If management really wanted to tank, they would find a way to sit down Saquon and some vets on defense. Not sure where we are going to be picking in this draft and I'm by no means a college football guru but we will have a high pick and should have the opportunity to select a good player. I would have no problem selecting an OL tbh. Having that QB won't matter at all until we fix this line. And for all we know, Caleb and Maye might be busts and Bo Nix might end up being the best one. We do not know. Drafting, especially in the NFL, is a lot like playing the lottery.

The Packers and Saints are up next which are both winnable games given the quality of the opponent. It’s still a lost season, but I have to admit it’s still nice being able to watch games and rooting for player development.

Devito has to work on throwing the ball away or just getting the ball to his safety net. He’s taken 15 sacks through 2 games and most of that isn’t on the O-line

Re: the Giants winning...i think it's crazy for us as fans to get upset that they're still trying to win.

I'd rather have the 7th pick and the locker room building towards next year positively instead of everything crashing and burning.

We're going to get thumped on Christmas day. We have a punchers chance versus Green Bay and The Saints. If Tommy can keep those games clean and the defense continues to play hard, why not enjoy it? It's not like i have any interest in watching anyone else on Sundays.

27m is owed to him over the next 3 years. I bet he sleeps like a log tonight not having to worry about that mess anymore.

I know I'm biased but seeing TLaw and Stroud duke it out in a genuinely exciting game that came down to a few inches at the end in essentially a preview of the next decade (hopefully) of the AFC being played at 1:00 on a streaming site and then having that on in primetime last night is just, yuck

It's really bad right now. Lots of back ups are playing. The Giants and Jets are on QB3, Bengals and Colts are on QB2, Minnesota traded for Dobbs and dude flamed out on national television

And yet, somehow Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott have had clean jerseys all year. I hate this. Why are we always lagging behind the Eagles and Cowboys!!!? :banghead:

Some of those teams invest in offensive linemen while others invest in skill players.
You'd hope they learn by now..

Jones is shell shocked from the beatings he has taken and is scared to take risks down field.

Let's be honest...Danny is a flawed QB, but this organization imo ruined the guy. He got his money so I can't feel sorry for him, but at the same time I can recognize that we did him no favors developmentally.

Good news is, not season-ending

Bad news is, I can't imagine this team winning a game without him, especially the next 2 against the Browns and Ravens and with Kirk needing surgery too

The thing I'm more worried about is the defense playing like that against Jake Browning.

Not a Jets fan, but if I were... I would be burning stuff down. Simien (however you spell his name) is the only QB alive on the roster with the capacity to win games. They are refusing to start him seemingly just because if he is any good they will look stupid. I feel bad for Saleh and Douglas who have to appeal to Woody and Rodgers for all decisions.

I don't believe for a second that he's gonna play Sunday, but he's for sure gonna try. Dude is tough as nails, can't believe people tried to make it a thing before the draft that he wasn't motivated to play.

Simien was awful though versus ATL.

I think Saleh has been dealt a really bad hand. Douglas going into the season with out insurance for Rodgers was malpractice. That's 100% on the GM.

Saleh has to get up in front of the media every week and deal with bait questions in an attempt to get him to throw Zach Wilson under the bus. I dunno how dude does it. He literally said Wilson is the best option at QB, got accused of lying only for him to be vindicated after Simien and that other jobber back up QB went out there and pissed all over the field.

Gamesmanship imo. That injury was rough, i wouldn't run him out there even if he can put pressure on it.

Absolutely not, I agree with you. But I'm curious if what Simien is showing in practice doesn't instill any faith in him from the staff and his teammates.

Zach sucks balls, but whatever Saleh sees behind the scenes is probably the reason why he hasn't thrown him to the wolves at this point.
