If Mavs tank again Luka should request a trade this summer.

He should have started planning an exit when they traded for Kyrie

Of course they won’t trade him here since we tampered with Brunson

(they owe the Spurs their first round pick, which is top 6 protected)

As long as he doesnt trade him to Dallas. It hurts our pick...

What's our best case scenario with it?

That it’s the number 11 pick because it’s top-10 protected. If it’s close, would they tank again?

we definitely aint adding two rookies to this team

Now that we’re basically out of guys on rookie deals, I actually think we will use both firsts. Those rookie deal contracts are pretty much a requirement of all star trades. Plus we’re going to need an Hartenstein replacement and maybe another combo guard if they don’t make another trade.

i don't think that the knicks are going to rely on a rookie to be the backup 5 going forward. it seems too important for how thibs likes to play. we're struggling right now with it. i also think there really won't be much room for development minutes at all. i think this trade indicates that they're working their way to trying to compete sooner rather than later.

They just need to save money somewhere and back up 5 seems like the perfect place to do it. Those dumb 1st and 2nd aprons the players agreed to are major hinderances. OG will be cheaper than RJ and quicks combine contracts, so maybe it’s enough money for Ihart? It just seems like an easier to fill that role with a guy on a rookie deal. All the good rim runners were found in the 2nd half of the draft anyways. It’s possible it be less of a learning curve.

Raptors weren’t supposed to trade us OG cuz of the lawsuit but it happened anyways. So maybe there’s a chance.

Shouldnt even need to be said anymore that KP would have been the perfect addition to this team, and with OG now wed be legit contenders.

Most of the board was cool with bringing Kristaps back, but many were against it. They cited injuries as the main reason to stay away from him, yet our starting center is injured again.

Mitch and the Washington 1st may have been able to net us KP. He wasnt expensive. Then we could still do the OG trade.

Brunson / McBride
Grimes / Donte
OG / Hart
Randle / Precious
Kristaps / Hartenstein

How good would this team be? Pretty damn good if you stagger 1 of Brunson/Randle/Porzingis with the bench, especially with another small move. Wed still have most of our 1sts to trade also. Porzingis is Embiid-lite and was a big whiff to not bring home. Now the options are slim and way more costly.
