Long story short. I want to play the Celtics, because this is how our guys would go into a series with them

This is still a hard team to predict, but one thing I wouldn't do yet is count them out vs. Boston if our defense is dominant when we face them. We've seen how much this team becomes a multi-faceted offense when our defense is clicking and generating higher paced opportunities. Then our need to have a clear-cut # 2 option like Randle fades away as we enough shooters to find the hot hand. Considering our record with OG on the court, no one is safe against us if he's healthy and Mitch gets a head of steam going.
We didn't just face punch the Bucks last night by focusing on outscoring them. We came back after getting a taste of their superior size in the first half and we rag dolled them and submitted them. Our defense last night opened the floor to more scoring opportunities and we got shots by Deuce, Donte and Bogie and our leader Brunson. Plus, iHart had 18. Because we hustled and created opportunities, not because we were executing a fearsome offensive machine.
Our calling card is our will. And we can make any team in the East submit to our will if we stay healthy the rest of the way, including the Celtics.
This is a pretty good argument. However ...
The Celtics calling card is their talent. KP and DWhite as the go-to option as #3-#4 with the Jays as #1-#2 is just too much imo. Horford, Jrue as the remainder of the starters. And the bench isn't bad.
The lack of coaching in game is a wash. kkkk
I'm not going to deny I have the Celtics as the favorites to win the title this year. So, yes, they SHOULD beat us, but all I'm saying is that we may actually be the toughest team they'd have to face if we're healthy and OG and Mitch are in 4th or 5th gear.
What we've done with OG in the rotation is pretty damn astounding. What is our record with him, 17-3? or something like that. I mean he's like Super Glue Man. And sometimes chemistry beats Goliath.
The reality is we could have a great series against them and lose to the superior team, but when it comes to the intangibles beyond talent comparisons I believe we're the team they won't want to face.
tbh, I think it's kinda inevitable that the Knicks-Celts series will be a thing. And a great series. I just think they have a little too much.
In the end I guess it's one of Knicks/Celtics against the Nuggets. And I don't know how to call BOS-DEN. But Denver probably is better than the Knicks.
But these are the three elite teams imo.

I just realized who Divo is most closely compared to in Knicks modern history, JR Smiff with his head screwed on tight.

I think before the game, the whole team was understandably down because of:
- the Randle news
- OG isn't 100%
- Mitch is not close to his season shape
- Bojan struggling
- Extra load on JB, Divo, Hart, iHart, Deuce they were not sure if they could sustain
Then in the game OG started locking down, Mitch starting blocking shots, they showed they could give us defensive stops when we need it, they're defensive anchors, they got everyone's back on D, everyone started playing better team D. Bojan started creating and making shots, and more than just making shots he looked getting more comfortable with his role because he feels needed. The offensive load pressure eased on Divo, Hart, and JB. JB did his thing and Divo started hitting shots 8-12 3P that's what makes us dangerous.
I really think everyone healthy (esp OG) we're still the most dangerous threat to Celtics, and we could win the ECF even without Randle. When Tatum and Brown encountered a problem in playoffs they couldn't seem to adjust and overcome. We got D, we can score, we got shooting, we can rebound, we pass the ball, we buy in, and this group seems inspired to play after surviving injury struggles. Call me biased but I think it's legit.

Many of you are forgetting about the play-in. Chicago and Atlanta have been playing well and can definitely surprise a Miami or Philly in a 1 game matchup

If you want a quality breakdown without all the screaming and keyboard slapping here's one.
Bucks-Knicks stuff starts @23:50, the Knicks defensive breakdown starts @33:20 after some praise of iHart he gives a special shoutout about Mitch's amazing hustle considering he's still not in full game shape yet @35:40 hi Knicksgod!

Soft or not when I've watched them play they don't seem to gel or compliment each other. It's like each guy takes turns doing their own thing (which usually involve ignoring the other one) and then everyone else just kinda stands around.

So what we root for the Celtics? Never! Go Bucks.
