Truly a great college player, and the best C in the NBA along with Kareem. But for too short a time. If only he didn't have have fragile, messed up feet.

The classic basketball book, The Breaks of the Game by David Halberstam has a great portrait of Walton in his Portland days.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Too young to see him play but like Clyde, loved listening to him broadcast on NBC. He was part of the soundtrack to my earliest NBA days.

Bill told his friend Al Franken that at one point he was on his back for about 5 years and was suicidal. They were good friends. He replays an interview with Bill. It's great. So uplifting.
