Yup, he got all the athleticism and zero feel for the game. He reminds me of when tall volleyball players try out basketball for the first time and just look lost. I can't believe he's still so raw after 3 years.

On the positive side, he's no worse after 3 years.

to me it looks like we are slowly improving.

but im no longer convinced KAT is a 5, but its clear he's better than Randle.

He’s better than Randle
He scores more efficiently
But we need to pair him with a 5

For stretches… and, well… we can. We have two guys on the IL.

Because he is usually defending the paint position wise pretty well, as far as the eye test goes, so it's a matter of the offense just getting lucky + small sample size I feel like.

It's really the drop, and the fact he's not a drop C. The Rockets are 4th in DRTG, and the Kings are 11th, neither has a rim protector at C but they don't just drop against everyone.

Yep, drop is literally the worst defense for Towns. He is made to play to his biggest defensive weakness. If they ever change the scheme away from drop he will look a lot better on D. I think Thibs is just trying to force him to get gud though.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.
