Another good game, when it counts the most, on his way to a ring.
The orc gave him to the Pacers for free, just so he can turn around and eliminate us in the ECF, get the orc canned, and get the Pacers their first championship.
He's +15 net rating in the finals, highest on the team for their rotation

He's a difference maker.
The Pacers have a coach who values his abilities and it's paying off big-time.

What we got for Obi...
the picks will be the worst of the Pacers and Suns second rounders in 2028 and the worst of the Pacers and Wizards second rounders in 2029.

A complete and utter joke, even if you don't like Obi you have to understand that getting back nothing isn't helpful. Those picks do nothing for us right now, while the Pacers got a role player out of it. It's absolutely hilarious how we'll have people complain about the bench while not making the connection to how dumb it was to give away a player for nothing.

The funniest thing is he's been a matchup problem for the Cavs, us and the Thunder. A 6'9" guy that doesn't need the ball, spaces the floor, runs the floor hard and is now rebounding. He's causing trouble for big lineups and is too big for 4 guard lineups to check, all this after our clown former coach swore he couldn't play in small ball lineups.

The Pacers have some of the clutchest shot making I've seen. Its like in the last 5 minutes of the game they do everything right and the other team does just enough wrong. You cant really teach that, their players are in the zone this run.

I really can’t stomach a pacers win, as a Knick fan watching that would mean the hated
bulls
heat
pacers
Would have all won
Except us
The only other teams in the east that have not won in my 35 years of life are the Magic, nets, hawks, Sixers, hornets, wizards. Of these, the Magic and Nets have reached the finals more recently than us. The rest of the east has won a chip during this time.
We’re in the same class as the Sixers, hornets, wizards and hawks in terms of starving for a ring. Let that sink in.
Incredible.

Yeah you gotta figure that watching guys like Toppin, Grimes etc. figured in into the Thibs firing. Such a terrible look complaining about lack of depth while ex-knicks players all over creating havoc.
That said OKC really played dissapointingly. I mean so sloppy with the passing in a finals game 3?
Still though, it was unlikely they win both in Indy. If they get game 4, which I think they will, they are back in the driver's seat.
To me it is always astonishing how a team at this juncture can come out completely focused and sharp, take a 8 point lead and then look like they are playing sloppy preseason ball in the second quarter with the most careless turnovers....

Thibs, the gift that keeps on Obi-ing, meant giving, cough Grime cough.
A better coach would have used our superior talent and won… IT ALL.
Congrats Thibs Lovers.

Was that trade somehow necessary in terms of dumping salary?

Never betting on the Thunder again.
The Pacers have the coach advantage and hustle advantage. Pacers in 6.

This is the only reason that trade was "necessary".
Knicks Film School
@KnickFilmSkool
"According to league sources who were present, once the final buzzer sounded Toppin aired his grievances to Thibodeau. The 24-year-old wants to play, and he wants to win. That evening, neither happened.
"An intense verbal altercation occurred between the player and coach as the group trekked to the Kaseya Center visiting locker room in Miami. It spilled into the postgame meeting once the doors closed."
Obi was cooking exactly like he is now in the finals.... But Thibs inexplicably pulled him and wouldn't let him play.

Re: Around the NBA - Conference Finals and Finals
Perfect storm for obi. In a thibs scheme he is not thriving. In most likely 70% of teams in the nba obi doesn’t thrive. He’s not a strong rebounder. He’s not a good defender and his handle is pure ass. He’s in a turbocharged sprint off every shot offense. Make or miss doesn’t matter he’s leaking out. It was never gonna work with thibs but I think his results with Carlisle are not what would have been if we dealt him to every other team in the league. That being said. That’s on Leon as much as it is on thibs. You drafted him at 8 and thibs said fck you im not playing him and your best return was 2 seconds.
Oh well. Leon better figure this coach situation out.

We could’ve beaten them, and we’ll be in the Finals next year, too.
