Yes it's not often that you see OG get torched like that, but Ingram had his number.

Per NBA.com KAT held the Raps to 5-16 shooting. Great defensive game from him.

It’s kinda funny that the game was close and being played at a pace the raptors wanted to play and their coach deliberately slowed it down by going to hack a Mitch. I guess it achieved their goal of getting Mitch off the floor but they never got back to playing fast. We had a lead when they started but it went from 10 to 17 points and the raptors never really recover after that. They were struggling to score all quarter and you decide to go away from how your team plays best? It one thing to have you opponents take you out of your game but to do it yourself is a really bad coaching decision. Great win and we’re going to have another battle with the magic on Saturday

KAT’s been playing better defense than Mitch as of late. Woodson’s coaching is on point

Josh is shooting 43% from 3 over the last 10 games and is providing 16ppg 10rpg 5apg 2stls

The trio of Hart, Bridges, and Anunoby is elite

I hope he never gets finger surgery. They broke that thing in the right direction

Seriously though, he has gotten off to hot starts from 3 in other seasons and then it gradually tapers off as the season progresses so let’s see how he sustains this

Getting the player with the lowest plus minus off the floor to force the player with the highest plus minus back on the floor is certainly a strategy

Honestly though it wasn’t about who is on the floor moreso it’s basically a guaranteed 0.4 point possession mathematically so teams will continue to take that option

Mitch's defense been slipping, can't stay healthy, contract situation coming up, shoots 3% from the free throw line, opponents can easily force him to be removed from the game.

We gonna treat him like a national treasure because he gets offensive rebounds? Nah.

He needs to get shipped out for a seasoned, long 3&D wing.

Remember when people thought Mitch was going to be able to shoot 3’s? Seems pretty crazy in hindsight. I don’t blame teams for doing it. The Celtics beat us cuz of how they used hack a Mitch but it’s funny to see it back fire. I just don’t know how his free throws can get so much worse.

Crazy how good and how much RJ was carrying the Raptors before the injury. 4th in ORTG to 30th ORTG.

I'm glad OG is just as good and fits so much better because otherwise we would really be regretting this trade.

RJ hasn’t made the playoffs once since we got rid of him. Good riddance. Best trade of all time in knicks history.

ctorres wrote:so what is it about the Jalen/Mikal/OG/Josh/KAT starting lineup that's working this time around that wasn't working last year?

Is it really as simple as it just coming down to Josh's willingness to shoot threes and knocking them down at a high percentage?

Remember, that line-up worked well to start last season. The first month or two, actually. The main reason was probably Hart's willingness and ability to hit threes.

Other reasons that it's working really well right now is that Mikal, OG, Hart, and Brunson are playing at their peaks right now. That helps. The ball isn't sticking. It's not just iso Brunson all the time like it was with Thibs. KAT is slowly starting to come alive... he's played real well the last 4 or so games. On both ends, even. All these things add up in a big way.

I like what you said. They're playing differently now, and it shows. In addition, the shorter minutes they're playing means they won't be as worn down and easy to defend as they were. They'll be a lot harder to stop mid-season than they were last year.

i dont say that often but i loved the game KAT played, he played like a grown ass man, altering shots, dunking over people.

also loved seeing josh knock some threes down. Hes getting his confidence back, love to see it. weird to see OG getting smoked on defense, but BI is a baller and he has the physical tools as well. When the guy is locked in, hes just as unstoppable as some of the top offensive players in the league.

Not looking forward to the next game, hopefully we get out of that game healthy. What is the cup about anyway? the players can earn some extra money or what is on the line here? i have a hard time keeping up with the midseason tournamnet stuff or is it emirates cup, is it all the same? i dont really get it :D

Mitch can't be fouled on that many possessions, because he doesn't usually hold the ball that often or try to score. He will try to score on lobs and putbacks, though. When the team is under the limit, the other team just puts themselves in the penalty, at which time Mitch can sit. So yeah, the ppp are low with him playing, but his other values (ORebs, blocks, defense) make using him in the right situations helpful.

Favorite play besides the KAT block and dunk was that swing pass play that ended up with Josh hitting that top of the key 3! WTH and how did Josh improve his shooting like this? Isn't one of his fingers like twisted and swollen? That's why you gotta love Hart! Hart and soul of the team and tireless worker!

Love love LOVED how KAT played! Best defensive game of the season from him! Dunk made me jump off the couch!!

Brunson is so freaking good. I know the old heads like myself still say Ewing was better or someone even older might make a case for Clyde and Reed but for any Knicks fan born after 2000, this is the best player you've ever seen! Foot work, shooting, IQ, balance, he has it all!!!

Mitch should try shooting those free throws with his left or maybe underhand them like Pistol Pete or shooting them backwards or maybe even trying to kick them in cause this **** ain't working for him.

I don't think OG would be making the playoffs with the Raptors rosters RJ has played with either to be fair.

I'm glad the trade worked out and I really love OG. Just saying that RJ really has become a great player that we all thought he could be, this season. Carrying the Raptors offense that hard is crazy work.
