PF/SF: Lee, Jeffries, QRich, Balkman, Chandler

The only saving is Brown, Radmonovich goes to 2011... and combining him with any extensions for Lee or Nate, coupled with Jeffries/Q/James have a negative impact on our cap.

We have to move Zach for salaries that end in 2009 for it to make a difference.

well Lee hasnt played more than a min or two as SF so thats not really valid and Chandler isnt exactly burning up the charts for his playing time either. but since you like how Jeffires and Q are playing this year I guess we should continue that move. lol, no. JJ2 and Q are in need of motivation, improvment or benching and Balkman is in need of more PT but Noicoini wont be the issue there

and as far as salry relief goes the LA deal is huge

its staggared relief but its substantial. Brown first, then Mhim then farmar and Rad.

^NO, I think you are overrating Nocioni's impact. It's not enough to take on his salary while having our current structure at SF/PF.

Forget staggered salary savings, the LA deal is not that cap friendly.

I think Nocioni would be a good fit on the Knicks.

He is a much better outside shooter than anyone the Knicks can put at SF and a better defender, not great but better, than anyone except Balkman and Jeffries. Nocioni while not a great player is a very good three point shooter, which is something we need since our only good three point shooter is Nate.

I would try for Thomas instead of Wallace because Wallace is on the decline. Nocioni, Thomas and filler for Randolph seems like a good trade to me.

Curry Thomas
Lee Thomas
Nocioni Balkman

That seems like a good frontcourt rotation to me.

Thomas would give us shotblocking and defense.

As for the LA trade I would insist on Odom. He would be an imediate upgrade at the three and again allow Lee to start. A bunch of bad players with staggered expirering contracts would just clutter our rotation even more.

I would probably turn down the Cleveland trade because Hughes and Gooden are worse than Crawford and Lee so neither is an upgrade.

For the NJ trade I would love to trade Zach for RJ but I do not think NJ would do that. RJ is thier leading scorer and having a very good season. But if they were willing I would not make them take Q or need a pick, a straight up RJ for Zach trade would be great. RJ would be a huge upgrade both offensively and defensivly at the 3.

How is ZBo not working out? It's not like he's missing shouts like QRich and not playing with effort like Curry?

Zach's a bad fit for this team. I predicted that it would be, but I didn't realize how detrimental his effect on the offense would be. I figured the offense would improve with his replacement of Frye, who contributed little. But now I see with my own eyes why Portland let him go easily. His presence seriously stagnates the offense, and it's not a good combination when you already have so many players who need the ball to be effective (Marbury, Curry, Crawford). If Zach's going to work out here, he should come off the bench and be a Corliss Williamson type. Isiah should also force him to operate on the low post more, which is where he is most effective.
