I can't believe they really refused to max Ayton. I'd be like here, take all my money

Ayton will be such a problem for the Warriors. He is not a big that they can take off the court.

they’re gonna have to develop Wiseman correctly to battle Ayton

We could always trade them Randle and Mitch.

They will feel the pain in 2028.

Im sure they will change the rules and take a few first rounders away from the Knicks when the time comes

They need to change the rules and they know it. They needed to punish because it was obvious but it's also obvious that literally every team and free agent is negotiating before the signing period. Chicago and Miami were just too blatant. So a token punishment.

There needs to be a negotiating period after the season ends, a signing date, and a hard and fast punishment for any official activity while the season is still in session.

the league basically admitted with this slap on the wrist was we don't mind you tampering just don't be so obvious about it.

For sure. I just don't see a point in prohibiting discussion once _all of_ the games are over. While in session, it's a big deal because these discussion could affect performance and outcomes.

Yeah technically once the last game is over as long as every team is on the same playing field they should be able to talk.

I think part of the reason they do it this way of having a "legal tampering period" is to drum up interest in the offseason.

MLB for example drops the ball consistently on this by kinda having an open period and no one knows when someone is going to sign. This year for baseball has been one of the most exciting offseasons because they had a "soft deadline" with the looming CBA work stoppage. But teams and players had incentives to get deals done before 12/2 when the CBA runs out.

I think NBA likes that unique starting point in the offseason where a flurry of moves happens rather than FA getting drawn out all offseason. Baseball has always got this wrong and they fell into the right way this year. I think the NBA does it to draw in the interest and that is pretty successful but everyone needs to play by the same rules.

That's a good point. The official signing day is great. Just keep your **** under wraps before then.

Damn those are some major losses for both Miami and Chicago

Miami has no depth @ C since Dedmon has a wobbly knee and Joker snapped Morris' neck in half and Chicago is depthless with Coby being their key bench scorer so it'll be interesting to see how they adjust

Players dropping like flies out there! Dejavu of last season where we fight like hell against battered teams struggling to plug the gaps.

We have a trove of second round picks...time to start tampering with Damian Lillard...hell, I'd risk the highly protected Hornets pick for some good ole fashioned tampering to get Lillard to force his way here

So Enes Freedom now says that any U.S. citizen who criticizes America can STFU and GTFO. I guess Enes just turned heel. WTF is wrong with this guy? Maybe the GOP got to him first? lol

He sounds like a Libertarian

"Freedom for me, not for thee" type

It's ironic, really, cause he had a good point at the start about LeBron not criticizing China cause it'd impact the bottom line, but he's kinda doing the same thing now.
