I see why they still pay Haslem
to guard spoelstra's azz and be an enforcer of the team

But .. just as a thought experiment .. why not think about using your players to make the most of them, as a coach? Just an idea.
It's an issue for Thibs and why someone suggested at least one of them should go, since he won't use Randle in his best way.
I think Thibs is a moron, but I think Randle is also pretty allergic to change.
Probably best if both go.
Johnny Bryant promoted to head coach
Mitch S&T'd for Brunson
Randle and picks etc for Zion.
All the rumors into one place.
Brunson/Rose
RJ/Grimes
Cam/Fournier
Zion/MLE vet
Sims/Taj
40 somewhat exciting wins
This is fine as a plan (not quibbling about the details - I think Cam probably goes to Dallas in a Brunson-Mitch double s'n't, but w/e). However, whilst I agree that Randle in the moment doesn't seem particularly flexible I strongly suspect that is mainly down to Thibs with a good side portion of whatever discussions Randle and his agent and the FO had last off season .. about (as speculated by Cohen/Macri) taking less money to be the leader of building something great at the Garden etc etc. Changing direction there is probably somewhat complicated, but I don't think Randle per se would be that against it if anyone with a clue was actually telling/asking him what he should be doing to help the team more. Unfortunately, I just don't see this happening. Thibs will be here again next year and the FO will probably be just doubling down.

Even though Burks is a SG who can fill in at PG, and Fournier is a SG who can see some time at SF, I still stand by trade one, and really, it should be Burks.
Knicks should trade or draft a point, which makes Burks expendable and get Fournier into a 6th man role where he gets 28-30 minutes a game.
And ... we're back to the Brunson trade. With the double Sign-and-trade with Mitch and then a boat load of salary needs to be added on each side under the CBA .. so it looks something like:
Brunson, Bertans, Burke for Robinson, Burks, Reddish, Kemba and Mavs 2023 pick. Knicks could ask for Dwight Powell and two of Frank, Boban and Chriss instead of Bertans, but that means giving up more draft picks.
Does it have to be a double if Mitch gets 15 million per? Mitch and one player for Brunson and filler. And Knicks send a pick.

When was the last time this knicks media crew was this excited?

They have websites for that. They get those games uploaded expeditiously too.![]()
The Knicks game is already up![]()
Play, pause, fast forward, download..whatever

Wally even mentioned that the ball doesn't stop with Obi like it does with Randle. He actually said the word stagnant and sticks when talking about Randle I almost died.

Yeah. Sadly it doesn't work like that.
Let's say Brunson will make 20 and Mitch 15.
From the Mavs pov they are taking in 15m and shipping out 10m (the outgoing s'n't counts for half the salary for the team shipping the player out).
From the Knicks pov they are taking in 20m and shipping out 7.5m.
Don't ask me why. It's just the CBA rules. (I mean, there is a historical explanation as to how the rule ended up in place ... but not rally relevant.)
Here's the kicker - you have to be in the 80%-125% of salary range in a trade. (Eg, if both teams over the cap - which they would be) With just Brunson for Mitch, neither side would be kosher - both would be taking in more than 125% of the what counts for the salary they are shipping out.
This is why you need to add plenty of salary on both sides of the trade (which count for 100% of their value both in and out) in order to "water down" the problem.
Ofc, you can choose other players, but those are ball park figures for a legal trade.
(Eg, after the Reddish trade, but before the Bertans-Dinwiddie/KP trade one legal trade I calculated was Brunson + Boban. Frank, Burke, Powell for Robinson + Burke, Reddish, Walker. This gives you some idea of minimal amounts of "side"-salary that need to be added to the trade.)

Yeah, I'm just having a moment in the euphoria of the fun win.
Knicks will draft a PF, not trade for a PG and use the MLE on another C.
Burks/Rose/McBride
Fournier/IQ/Grimes
RJ/Cam
Randle/Obi/2022 1st round pick
Noel/Mitch/Taj/Sims/MLE vet
Still one roster spot left over.

Knicks have to do their due diligence on precisely why he has a conditioning problem. We cannot have a repeat of the Eddy Curry scenario. If Zion is doing this to get out of NO, that's one thing. But if he lacks the mental discipline to take care of his body...stay away.
