Who is guarding Brooks in these workouts though? Nobody.

I am sure Fields could knock down 18-22 out of 25 NBA 3's, if he was wide open with nobody guarding him too.

Rautins could go 25 for 25, doesn't mean he is ready for the NBA.

It does mean he can shoot though.

You guys are looking for the next Wade at the #17 pick in a weak draft. Its not going to happen. You have to go need before helplessly swinging for the fences at this pick. That's how championship teams are built. Darius Morris is exactly what this team needs. A big, pass first true point who can learn from Chauncey. You guys really need to watch him play. His playing style would even give GONYK an orgasm.

I never questioned his ability to be able to shoot the ball.

I am just pointing out that, in a workout setting, I am sure that Fields proved he could shoot too.

I do however have his issues with his shot selection and the fact that he likes to play with the ball in his hands.

If that's how he likes to play, he'll have to adjust, because the fact is the ball won't be in his hands.

We do need a player who can create his own offense though. Right now, we have a bunch of role players who need everything set up for them. A third scorer will help us alot.

A ball-dominating point guard, that cant shoot, and whos best asset is the ability to make good passes is orgasm-worthy?

So why isnt a 20 year old 6'5 true PG who can run an offense a sure fire top 10 pick?

Andre Miller was picked 8th.

Because he can't shoot and there are more talented players ahead of him.

Like I said before, if Morris can be a 6'5" Maynor, he's perfect to me.

Oh come on...a big, athletic near 6'6" starting caliber true point can have only one arm and hed still be a top draft pick, especially in this draft. Jason Kidd, who also couldnt shoot was taken how high in a much stronger draft.

What's your point? Kidd was undeniably better coming out of school.

I'm not saying take Morris with the 17. I'm not even saying take Morris as a starting PG in this league. I'm just saying the kid can run an offense.

Why are people acting as if my expectations are unrealistic when I'm saying if the kid can become ERIC MAYNOR I'll be happy?

With the 17th pick though? I think that's a big reach when you have big potential in guys like Brooks, Montiejunas and Selby. I realize this draft is kind of a can't miss situation, but I can't help but think Morris will fall far enough for us to get a second pick and take him later on.

Long story short, I want Marshon Brooks with this pick. I want a later pick for Morris, because I think he need a big PG who can run the offense. I don't see what is so controversial about that view.

Yeah I wasn't wading through this whole discussion to see that, the topic is with the 17th pick and you guys had Darius Morris' name up so I chimed in. If that's your view I can dig that play. I'd be really happy with that kind of draft.
