Re: Welcome to the Knicks Iman Shumpert
I'll just make one post regarding this and root for him since he is a Knick now.
Iman can't really run the point, I can never see him as a full time starter. When people talk about his potential they mean if he can develop into that point guard because of his measurements and agility. He is atheltic but I think people fall in love with him because he is a tall point guard. Playing off the ball this year he didn't fair any better than when he did have the ball in his hands, I do believe he needs the ball in his hands to be effective. The team needed for him to score this year and IMO he really didn't deliver all that much evident by the results. Where as you have other late bloomers around college who really stepped up, Iman didn't. His offense for the most part is almost non existent IMO, most of his points will come from attacking the rim and in transition. At the end of the day he is a combo guard who can't run the point nor shoot it really.
On defense is where he can really shine, with his athleticism and size. We will play him at the two guard probably thus kind of negating the advantages he has at point. We will play him with Douglas probably with Douglas guarding the ones and Iman the two's. All of a sudden we are taking Iman and forcing him to become a two really, sort of like what people wanted to do with Malcolm Lee. At 17 there where a handful of guys that could have impacted us either offensively, defensively or on the boards. Iman IMO was a complete reach and a pick we will look back upon as a bad pick.
IMO Iman will be a nice guy off the bench, but ultimately not a starter for us. Not going thesis on this pick.

yeah Melo's tweet was stupid, that was childish as it gets...

Amare tweeted that because that's his agent's newest client.

This gives me even less confidence of the pick.
Why are we building around Toney Douglas?

And Amare's isn't anything better considering him and shumpert have the same stinking agents. Of course he's going to say something positive

Re: Welcome to the Knicks Iman Shumpert
He seems to be the most talented pick on draft night in a very looooong time. Looks like we got our Dwyane Wade 2.0 and don't need O.J Mayo. He seems to have a polished game with his step back. For a guy who supposedly doesn't shoot well his 3 pt. shots seem to be pure net (Nick Young). Seriously he looks good guys with very high upside, I won't be suprised if Isaiah had a say in this (good thing).

I don't care if Amare and Shumpert have the same agent. Amare has a positive attitude and is showing support for a new teammate. And he's talking defense. I can't believe Melo's tweet. What an awful attitude. Really disappointing.

Now we should criticize him because he said something positive about our pick ?

His track record really isn't spectacular. Mixed feelings right now. An undersized 2?
6'5.5 with shoes is an undersized SG?

Love this pick. Considering who was left he was our man. All the top guards were snatched up, and we were left with a lot of forwards and a soft Euro.
Brooks and Selby continue their descent.
who videoshoped JJ Barea @ :33?
