I think that's all speculation by Berman at this point.

Not completely unfounded, given Dolan's history. But still, speculation.

No direct quotes from anyone so far. Just speculation and "sources".

We'll match, you guys are getting worked up over nothing.

Makes no sense at all if we don't match if we're trying to go all in on a 3 yr window.

Prolly can't help too much. Not re-signing Lin might be as much a 'f*ck you' to Morey as to Lin.

It hurts them. It could potentially kill them. Asik and Lin on their roster would kill them.

No quote. Rank speculation.

Dolan was going to match an offer that was going to put him far into the luxury tax and then Lin went and had the offer upped. Do you really want a player on our team who knowingly accepted an offer that he knew would create a HUGE problem for the team his rights are owned by? I'm sorry that you all want Lin but he obviously doesn't want you.

You're making too much sense in this thread. Be careful!

I'm thinking that's more what this is about. Dolan is probably a lot more pissed at Morey, and Lin could be collateral damage.

Hahn works for MSG, if Berman was saying untrue things about Dolan I think he would say so. But so far the consensus is that the Knicks aren't happy with Lin and they put themselves in a position where they don't need to match.

i wouldnt put it past dolan to be upset, he's the same guy that shipped sprewell out of town because of sprewell not telling the team about how he suffered his broken hand.

@alanhahn @msgnetworks I like the move to get Felton! Alot of money to keep ‪#Linsanity‬. Don't think he would have flourished under woody

There has to be a ton more to this that we don't know for this to make sense, it will all come out in the end.

yes question should be... did Lin really sign the first offer sheet was it really delivered to the Knicks...

and if it was why didnt the Knicks match right away....

can we speculate that Lin told the Knicks what the offer was... Knick gave him a verbal we will match...

Rox came back and upped the deal... Lin went and signed it...

Its funny seeing people use a Berman article and running with it like it is fact. Even George Bush wouldnt get fooled by Berman that many times

Lin, his Knicks team, and all Knicks fans become collateral damage.

Melo played injured in the playoff last year and had to get surgery right after. That showed his heart and his competitiveness. Mostly all the big stars were injured in the playoffs and they still played. Wade was injured, Bosh was injured. Pierce was injured, Ray Allen was injured, Bynum was injured, etc.

carayip wrote:If you really think Lin's unloyal to the Knicks, think about it for 1 second, where's the Knicks loyalty towards Lin when they made the full effort to pursue Nash and made zero initial offer to Lin? Even Chicago put an initial offer 24m/4 years to Asik on the table before he found a bigger offer with Houston but we made zero effort to do that and were busy chasing another PG to replace Lin. Add the rumor about using Lin as a package for CP3 (though pure rumor). Loyalty can go both ways and really rarely exist in a business sports world.

:-?

Last I checked Nash without a doubt was better than Lin and would greatly help us as a contender, last I checked Lin was about two days away from being cut, last I checked Lin got injured halfway through playing in the season (yes I know fatigue played a factor). Let's not act like Lin is a all-star that deserves his full & undivided attention. And last I checked we ALLOWED Lin to test out his own free-agent market value so he could get MORE MONEY. As far as that CP3 rumor sh*t goes if you believe that is serious then I got a house to sell you in Idaho.

Where did I say I believed him?

I used the word 'speculation' for a reason - because Berman is speculating.
