Theres a reason why we traded away Acy last year. Youll soon find out all the reasons why. :D 8-)

Translation: I am a ball boy from another team's forums and I am here to troll you and I really know nothing about basketball I didn't learn from playing PS3. *inserts excessive smiley faces like a 9 year old*

Yeah, I don't quite think it's fair to say that a player's rookie season is indicative of their entire career. Acy might not be best suited as a starter, but he's certainly shown flashes of developing into a capable role player who can excel at things like: intimidation, toughness, defensive presence, and even some offensive skill. With extended playing time, whether or not he is the starter, he can definitely become a solid NBA player. He's already been outplaying two guys who were given multi-million dollar contracts once upon a time.

why are you all even answering this motherf*cker respectfully ? he's got 34 posts. do you not even understand how this place works ? and on top of that he's from canada. this is how you treat them. you mock their existence and then they give you and1s. that's the only acceptable way of dealing with them. do i need to write a manual on this sh*t ? well damn.

I've seen Acy play since his rookie season and he's a great hustle player. From what I've seen, he has been working on his jumper. He is a selfless team guy that this team desperately needed.

With Acy and Shump, I feel that we have two glue guys that will help this team a lot on the defensive end.

Great Post by the way.

One observation on the preseason. Amare should consider retiring and both Melo and JR need to completely buy into the Triangle. He's got sticky fingers.

The raptors fans were all trolling the Acy post on wire tap laughing about how we were playing their left overs, I basically asked them how Landry Fields was working out for them.

Screw Raptor trolls, this one has been banned for 12 hours we can increase that as needed.

You seem like a good mod candidate to lobby the next time something where we need to ban everyone, like a basketball game, happens.

You will soon realize that Quincy Acy, while a nice guy, can't actually play defense.

The rotation of Acy/Smith provides us with a ton of goon moments, hustle and energy. Something we've lacked for quite some time on this team, their impact will go a lot further than the stats show. I'm not expecting a whole lot from either one, but nightly energy brought to the team will go a long way.

As for the original post, awesome write up. I always love reading what happens off the screen because so much gets overlooked from the casual fan. In the past we've shown how close this team can be with the core players, when we're all vibing we play good basketball. In addition to the Zen, I hope we still maintain that Knickstape mentality. It can be like the Abbot, head of the Clan.

That is so stupid. Acy was a fan favorite while he was here in Toronto. I'm happy he is starting for you guys. Screw the trolls.

We are not winning a championship this season and Stat and Bargnani are not part of the long term future and are both gone after this season anyway. Acy is only 24 and he might be part of the future so give him the minutes and let's see what he's got. This season is more about finding out what pieces we have then trying to win games IMHO.

+1. Think both Aldrich and Larkin need minutes for this reason also.

If it were a playoff game, we'd have to go with Prigioni as #2 behind Calderon, but we need to develop players so Larkin needs to get some burn during the regular season.

Aldrich has already shown us what he can do, and as far as two-way player at his size is our best option at C. Active on both sides of the floor.

Acy is a no brainer. He's the type of player NY has always loved, you can already hear the crowd cheering for him in that MSG way that is reserved for that level of effort and the type of plays he makes.
