Melo isn't going to be traded. This front office is so incompetent, Melo's going to have to eventually opt out. If Melo gets traded, eyes are going to roll at the bull we get back.

Aren't Harkless and Leonard sort of trash?

Harkless is pretty good. His TS% was .570 and has been increasing. He's a net positive on defense. Basketball reference says he's most similar to Tom McMillen, Frank Card and (lol) Phil Jackson.
Leonard had one good year 2 years ago and is still young but he probably isn't that good. We'd be taking on his contract to make this deal work. But he's much better than Plumlee who we just cut so a net positive.

I don't see how Melo doesn't get traded. Like I said Houston needs Melo and they should try to pull as many string to make a good deal.

The only thing missing is a SF. We have a star player at SF in Anthony who wants or wanted to be here. Do we remember how long it took to get a top 15 player to play here. In fact not counting Stoudemire who was past his prime when he was here when was the last time we had a big time free agent come here willingly?
I think unless we qet another SF who is young and a fit with our current roster in a trade for Melo then let's ride with him. If they all fit, great we make the playoffs. If we don't do well we'll look to draft a SF. But boughing at the playoffs just because we can't beat golden state or the cavs is sideways thinking. Every other team in the league is in that same boat. I think this might be the year to go for it when everyone else is tanking. Never know what could happen.
This my friends is a delusional mad men

Re: Melo Trade Thread #? - We all know nothing
Enough of this nonsense about Melo's value, he has value more than just as a dump, if Morey didn't think he could contribute on a playoff team scoring in ways that others cannot he wouldn't be trying to get him so no garbage back for Melo. The Rockets want Melo, Melo wants the Rockets and the Knicks better get decent assets if the other two parties are going to get what they obviously want.
Sure he's older but he's still one of the most potent versatile scorers in the league and a proven commodity, get decent assets and no garbage or the heck with their desperation. Don't give in to the pressure, Mills, show you have some balls and get something for the future of this franchise if you want to prove to Dolan you can handle the job you so desperately want yourself. No garbage!
I'd rather Melo opt out and walk for nothing after next season opening up cap space than be stuck with years of useless Anderson sitting on the bench next to useless Noah taking up nearly $40mil of the cap..... disgusting! Young players, maybe a solid reasonably priced vet and a pick(s) even if it's years down the road in coming to the Knicks but not for garbage because the Rockets want it.
If Mills lets Morey bend the Knicks over again he needs to be fired, not just not hired in a larger capacity.

If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

Two things I want in any Melo trade. 1. No bad contracts and 2. At least 1 potentially good asset.
Not really hoping for much here. Would rather give Melo the Marbury treatment, rather than take on a bad contract or let him go for free.
