I just realized that Hornacek was a assistant in Utah when Kanter was drafted there so they at least have some type of relationship already.

If he's as good a shooter as Novak was, I'll be glad to hide that guy somewhere for 15 minutes a game. Novak must have won 10 games for the Knicks over two years on just killing the soul of other teams with dagger 3's, or stopping offensive runs the other team was making, then the Knicks won. And these weren't great Knick teams that won a ton of games or anything.

meh package. only thing that provides legitimate potential is that 2nd rounder.

overall him leaving helps the tank. which makes this move a positive.

Yeah OKC got a deal, but they took a risk with one year rentals. There's only so much they would give away and maybe they didn't want to give the rookie away just in case.

OKC needed to take a risk this season though. You gotta ride Westbrook until he falls off or even decides to bolt to another team. If it doesn't work out with PG and Melo, I could see OKC wanting to rebuild. If Westbrook is fine with being a treadmill playoff team but not a contender, he'll stay. If he really wants a ring, he'll have to pull a Durant.

That's what I'm saying. He took a risk because PG13 and Melo may play one year and leave. Westbrook may leave too and what is OKC left with? So, they may have not wanted to trade Ferguson just in case nobody returns.
