Maybe this is all part of thibs plan to make everyone hate elfrid payton and ensure perry gets fired

you can't even put into words how unspeakably bad elfrid payton was in this game

Also shout out to Knox. He can play, as a finisher. We just need a PG or some ball movement to give him the room to hit his shots

It’s better to play D and share the ball than score 1 on 1. Randle is a very salient example of that but it’s not new to the game.

So are we going to see a change in the starting lineup based on level of play and accountability the next game?

cgf wrote:Being serious, this was a preseason game against the cavs depth. So we shouldn't throw that group to the wolves & let NBA starters crush their confidence before they can really turn it into something...which is why I won't gripe about Thibs bringing them off the bench, as long as he's consistently bringing them off the bench & letting them play together for 20-24 minutes a night.

Let's see if they can't keep this up against regular-season benches & start finally building something!

The starters would have lost the game against the Cavs 4th stringers if Thibs put them back in....no joke.

Quickley is everything we wanted Frank to desperately be

I like France Thomas but basically this is true.

Glue like PG; moves the ball while playing off it but will play some point; not the greatest driver but at least adept to keep defenders honest on a good jumper; plays good defense.

Yup

I think he has potential to figure out driving and finishing. Kid is a gym rat.

Wally and Hahn are right

90% of our problems get fixed if we get a PG...

This is why the FO wanted Chris Paul he’d have inflated our players value

What’s going to be funny is the Knicks will be 10-30, quickley will be playing well and getting the back page in the NY papers, the nets will be 30-10 with KD dropping 40 and it will be crickets..

Yeah and also Toppin has to recognize to cut. But all the movement was towards Robinson. Mitch needs like a life coach or they need to let him smoke weed during the season. Whatever it takes for him to comprehend not fouling anyone in the first half. Now if I was the PG I would be in his ear telling him that and patting him on the back every time he avoids a foul. I would make it a priority but if you watch Payton and Smith... these guys do nothing motivational while there on the floor. they just go through the motions.

Couldn’t be any clearer that playing the kids is what this team needs to do. Yeah it was against a bad team who was missing guys but the same vets you bury most of these kids behind so they can (earn it) looked like complete trash against them

Agreed - but even the rudiments are there and he's using them. I was sort of outlining what we hoped Frank would bring and how Quickley basically has it.
