Hali is the real deal; winning player. should've taken him over Obi

I am a bit confused by the Obi pick. He is a defensive liability on the perimeter. He can be ok on defense with his length, but he has negative lateral movement. Is his scoring and passing so good to overcome for his defense? I don't think so.
I had Deni and Tyrese over him. But we needed a PG and would have jumped up and down for one with the 8th pick.

I think Obi can be a good player, but his defense and the BIG question of his offensive game (not shooting) is a HUGE question in the NBA. And I think we got a glimpse of that already.

The thing is too, that in order to justify his selection, he has to blow the guys taken after him out of the water in terms of production, cause he's 3 years older than them

If he were 19 as well and playing at about their level, you could argue that he'll grow more, but if he's worse than Haliburton or Deni out of the gate and 3 years older than them, that's not good

The main reason people said we should draft him is that because he's older he's more NBA ready and he's BPA, so anything less than being better than everyone taken after him is a disappointment.

Haliburton was my #1, Vassell #2 (out of the "realistic" options at our spot). Still way too early, but the kid is looking great. Quickley and Hali could have set our back court for the next 10 years. Oh wellz. Here's to hoping Obi develops into a Blake-lite.

I so, so, so, so hope we kick the crap out of them next wed. They definitely gonna get some exemption to let KD play. Love to,glide over there and pistol, whip, them by 30.

Same, this year is rough with these injuries. The championship will be whatever team survives this brutal schedule. We are barely 10% through the season almost every team has at least 4 people out with various injures and multiple players have season ending injuries. I know they want to get the schedule back to normal but I don't know if it will be worth it by the end of the season.

I just saw Lamelo’s highlights from last night. He looks like the real deal. Good for the Hornets

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure he was the biggest bust in NBA history less than 5 games into his career.

The hot takes on RGM are so over the top  Why are ppl so desperate to see kids fail? I get vets. But kids? Really? That's what brings you joy?

What I like about the Obi situation. Although he’s 22, he can still be a guy that can learn from Julius and our coaching. When Randle isn’t here any longer, he’ll step into that 4 stop and be well developed. Our 2,4,5 positions should be set for 5-8 years.

There’s no need to rush him to play 30 minutes and set him up for failure. Right now he’s set up for success and to play with confidence.

I think the hate for Lamelo went a little too overboard. Kinda seemed personal with some people. I never really cared for Lamelo like that but he seems like a good kid. He was #2 on my big board too.

His jumpshot makes me wince but otherwise he has a solid all around game - good vision. He should take Graham's starting job eventually, Devonte has been utterly horrible this season.

Seth Curry hitting his prime. Bad idea by Mavs to give him up.

Mm...let's hope Toppin kills it this year. I was expecting a much more developed player, considering the fact that we were willing to move the late first (Quickley) and the 8th to secure him.

They got Quickley right at least.

I always supported her because she paid her dues and she deserved to have her own show but Rachel Nichols is a flaming hypocrite when it comes to the Knicks.

Provoked Knicks fans for years with the over the top lol Knicks attitude, and now she has the nerve to pretend to be happy for Knicks fans and to even speak for Knicks fans. Yet she spent more time in her latest segment justifying her behavior by reminding the world of the Knicks ineptitude, while being completely vague or inaccurate about some of those complaints to protect her relationships (eg Fizdale) and even making sheet up like Knicks fans are all pulling for Oak.

The lack of decency is staggering.

I'd argue that the toxic lol Knicks culture that people like her and Max Kellerman have been cultivating and legitimizing through the media has hurt and demoralized Knicks fans just as much as the losing and the dysfunction.

And I hate James Dolan.

While I’d ordinarily give the benefit of the doubt, with Kyrie, after all the stunts and nonsense, I just can’t. Instead, at this point, I’d prefer he take a long walk off a short flat Earth.
