You mofos are insane!
It’s like you guys can’t just mentally stand pat and let this thing continue to build chemistry and play out.
At this point I don’t have anyone I want off the team besides Payton and Rivers. Everyone else, I’m taking a wait and see approach.
All facts.
Long as we showing overall team improvement and winning, let’s relax.

You can definitely make the argument Quickley deserved to start earlier this year. Since the Rose trade, he now has not one but two nominal PGs playing ahead of him as Rose entered the game for Payton before him.
i don't want to put those expectations on IQ but he reminds me a little of Billups and CJ. The jumpshot, the ability to draw fouls and the quick first step are a deadly combination. Now it's on the Knicks to develop his playmaking skills.
What is it with people insisting that IQ has to be a traditional PG or a starter? He is a complimentary guard who can be the playmaker and off ball scorer. He is thriving as a bench player right now so why mess with a good thing? A great 6th man sometimes is better than a good starter. Ask the Clippers.
Since you mentioned the Clippers, I think he can be better than Lou Will.
But now is the time to develop him for him to potentially become more than that.
Why mess with a good thing? That's the conservative approach imo. Yes, I can obviously see how Quickley could succeed in a complementary guard role. What if his ceiling is actually higher than that? Oughtn't we to try and see if it is?
I don't actually care that Quickley starts or comes off the bench for his own development's sake but Quickley simply outplayed Payton for a significant stretch and fits better with the starters due to his ability to shoot (not necessarily for him but for the starters).

I really like Quick off the bench right now. Randle’s usage is so damn high and RJ also needs touches. IQ would be relegated to escape valve. Right now, he can just focus on one thing—score. Great way to narrow his role while he’s young. Plenty of years ahead to become a starter.

Re: KNICKS - Houston PG
This was RJ’s 83rd game btw
Inconsistency is still going to happen. When he’s on, he’s on. We winning and Thibs is doing the right thing with him. The long game.
As for throwing RJ in any deal for Beal or LaVine, I still prefer LaVine & we’d have to keep a pick or 2. And I’d only do it if we’re promised Kawhi between LaVine & Randle.

They are doing that playing him with Rose. Rose is the PG on like....60% of the possessions they play together? (This is just a guess)
And IQ is the point the other 40%.
And there's the development.

The insistence is to let him get reps running offense as a PG, so that in the future we don't need to draft / sign a PG to run the offense. If he's not a PG, you have to get lucky and draft/sign a big PG to play the 2 next to him in a starting lineup, or get lucky and get some kind of playmaking wing that can run offense so it doesn't matter as much. The reason why Zach LaVine can run offense as a secondary creator is because they made him play PG when he was on the Wolves. He wasn't good at it, but the reps helped him develop that part of his game so he can do it at times.
The Clippers are scouring the league for a PG, not really a good example

I agree lol. this is probably the best second unit in basketball. Quickley/Rose is pretty much unstoppable for any opposing second unit.

Shamms, you going to tolerate this?
This game is the opening salvo in "The Great Rim Runner Valuation Debate"
My personal takeaway: If the Rockets didn't suck they'd have had like 60 rebounds and 150 points

Cousins was a +2. had they not played small most of the game, they would've had a chance

This is a slight exaggeration but imagine if Harden stayed in OKC and people were just satisfied with him being 6th man...
All I'm saying right now.
Shout out to RJ with team leading 6 assists
