Selden ?
Taj?
Knicks that can be replaced, in order of ease:
Kemba
Knox
Selden
Luka Samanic
Taj
Noel
Mitch
Sims
McBride
Grimes
RJ
Burks
IQ
Obi
Fournier
Randle
Rose
Besides $ and years considerations, theoretically Knicks could draft like 8 players to replace 8 players on the team and it we'd hardly notice. Every player on this team is replaceable as well.
But the roster spots of Kemba, Knox, Selden, Luka, Taj are complete no brainers and it would be beyond easy to shed at least one, and probably two, of Sims, Noel and Mitch.
I see 6 or 7 available spots.

Don't mean much
Dwane Casey won COTY in 2018, was fired a month later.

I knew the Dwane Casey example would be used, but I just don't see the Knicks firing the coach who took them back to the playoffs after 7 missed years; not after just 2 seasons. heck, I'd be surprised if he doesn't last at least 4 years

Knicks MIGHT get a 2nd rounder for Knox. If they take back salary.

Yeah, Casey is a bit of a special case, won COTY but had been there a while and it was clear the team was plateau-ing under him
Don't see us firing Thibs anytime soon, just wanted to point out that winning COTY doesn't prevent being fired soon after.

Based off last year, we'd trade it for a top 5 protected 1st.

If we stick around the top 10 range, I expect us to go hard for Keegan Murray
Fits the mold we like
Upperclassman, puts up big numbers, good size, not a PG.

I still don’t expect that Hornets pick to convey especially now that half the team has covid. That’s not a bad thing though we can carry it over to next year
If we get a lottery pick they will do like Thibs did in 2018 when they traded the 7th pick lavine and dunn for butler
I’m still not going to get my hopes up about these picks because I see how this team is trying to operate

Yea, and we will probably end up picking in that 11-14 range anyway

They are going to draft a Center or PF again and we'll all come to terms with it...... begrudgingly
