After doing a bobble count of all the passes Noel fumbled, I need to know how are Hartenstein’s hands?

Actually has hands instead of feet for hands.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but once they sign Robinson, they lose cap space.

Good hands. Biggest issue is fouls.

Yes. Mitch had a small cap hold. He will be the last one signed.

I'm no cap expert by any stretch (no pun) but I thought we could go over the cap to resign our own free agents after we sign the free agents from other teams. Don't quote me.

Perhaps I was a tad hasty in my judgment. It was only that one photo. I'm just not into the Barbie doll types. They're so high-maintenance. She's definitely smoking in those other photos. I betcha she's much more into Isaiah today than she was this time last week. Can you imagine if he struck out in free agency? She'd drop him like a hot potato.

What a great signing in Hartenstein. Great value play and we finally have a center who can stretch the floor. (Still wanted Duren in draft!)
Mitch can always be moved later if Hartenstein does what we think he can do. And now we have a team full of assets to build with. Good times (relatively) in Knicks-Ville and we are hopefully not done yet.

Hopefully with all the assets we have accumulated we can pull of a big move to get the squad on a Chicago Bull level. But a stretch 5 was needed.

Re: Knicks sign Isaiah Hartenstein to 2 year/$16 M contract
Wasn't on my initial radar as I was over focused on the possibility of Bamba to stretch the floor for Brunson and in general.
Got hyped when I saw him make some 3's in a video, but that's not really his game.
However, based on a couple of uber nerd videos talking his clips and stats, then watching more video, it's apparent that I-Hart is pretty good at covering the perimeter and recovering, decent shot blocker, legit height, solid rebounder. So, in doesn't seem like a drop off from the defense that Noel offered when healthy.
On offense, he seems to have more skill than Noel or Mitch, with a working outside shot, if not used often, and some jump hook/drop step stuff around the basket and like a push floater that seems pretty accurate. That alone would be an upgrade but he looks like a very good passer for a C - not Jokic\Dad Sabonis\Walton territory, but, as someone stated, Raef LaFrentz or Brad Miller (lite?)
Whatever the comp, he looks like he can pass out of the high post well and I'd assume can find cutters from the low post.
Also looks solid in the P&R as finisher.
He's been a backup and is paid like one, so if he's given 15-18 mpg, that's fine and he should be fine
Lastly, he basically just turned 24, so he'll be 24 during all or most of next season. There's some theoretical upside left and he's not the other kind of backup C, which is the vet still solid but on the downside.
Solid pick. I wonder if Zanin and maybe Perrin were part of this scouting, because I'm not sure this is a Perry kind of signing. Not from Pistons or Kings or Orlando. Then again, he's kind of "2nd draft"-ish.

They went way too hard for this kid that there isn’t something there from analytics. They essentially tampered with him too and dumped Noel for him. At least that’s what I hope. He’s also CAA.

Let’s never reference the Bulls as a success ever again. That squad was built like shat, and their key moves this off-season were Danilo and Drummond. And maybe maxing out Lavine and locking in a flawed core.

Analytics have him up there with Robert Williams in some defensive measureables and also some weird stat that he covers the most defensive miles. So yeah, I think the analytics are there. Even the eye test shows he's solid. Maybe the Knicks like paying backup C's 9 million or under and not 15 million and knew he'd take it.
And yeah, teams are talking with player agents back channel before they sign. They have been forever.

You don't like Lavine and DeRozan making 70+ million a year?
