Just play him , Brunson can backup a year and I would also try to Westbrook a lot at small forward.
3 guard lineups etc.

Or reflip him for Harrison Barnes ( expiring)
Not sure what the pros are to buying him vs just utilizing him for a year ?

Brunson, a $104 million dollar back-up. Only on the Knicks.

I would only do the Westbrook swap if it means Fournier is also off the books

because then we can be under the cap again in '23 offseason and potentially sign another FA or trade for another FA before the RJ extension puts us back over the cap. But it doesnt make a lot of sense to me because the moment we trade for DM we are going to lose alot of our assets. we're not going to be able to trade for another star for picks.

So to me the smoke on Westbrook isn't about trading Randle, its that Utah doesnt want to take back any contracts at all.

Relax bro you still might be rusty off retirement .
Westbrook is still the higher scorer , rebounder and assister.
Also I don’t think the Knicks would mismanage him as poorly as the lakers did .
Brunson still nice .

knicks aint getting a bargain. sham will always tell you like it is. it aint gonna be cheap.

There's not cheap and there is ridiculous.
I'm ok with the first, hopefully that's where Aller is trying to get it.

I've been stating for a while, and this has been reported, it's about the combination of players and picks. More players in, less picks out. Less players in, more picks out.

Assumed Ainge asked for way too much to start, Aller/Leon counter with some form of too little, and all the haggling has been each side trying to push the trade into their version of over the reasonable middle.

And it's not as if there's a sticking point going on for a few days of a part that opposite but reasonable for both sides.
Like, for the Knicks, it's not wanting to include the 29 pick lightly or not protected and Ainge saying "well, then that costs Obi AND Grimes" (or more), etc

It will be more expensive, not sure why anyone would think it would be equal or less.

Every offseason, people try and talk themselves into believing Westbrook doesn't suck.

Then every year, Westbrook drags down whatever roster he's on and reminds the whole world that he does, in fact, suck.

Then the offseason comes, and we're back in the Russ Solstice where people think he belongs in a starting lineup or would help a team

How many did the Lebron one go back when, for jack sh*t?

Might set a new record.

Going to need a lot big stats pictures, infighting, lots of jello casserole photos and more ladyboys than GreenArrow has in his basement.

really, this board is schizophrenic.

Randle sucks and getting him off the books might be a +.

but Westbrook? LOL.

I guess if it does happen we're really gonna find out how good Obi actually is and either way a lot of people on this board would be eating a lot of ****.

Westbrook was a great player when he had his athleticism but he's fallen off hard as it has disappeared and it's like there's nothing behind it to leave a serviceable player, plus he's completely lacking in self awareness that he doesn't have it anymore - but he won't be the first athlete like that, at all. I mean, supreme confidence got them all the way to the top.

If DM has already told Ainge he won't cooperate with a trade to anyone but the Knicks do you really believe another team is going to risk doing a big deal for a player who may be a malcontent? I don't think so. Yes, Ainge will get a good haul, but I feel like everyone is overstating his leverage.

Yes, some team will be willing to trade for him and the belief that they have 3 years to sell him on being there.
