https://www.si.com/nba/knicks/trade-rumors/new-york-knicks-joel-embiid-wants-trade-philadelphia-76ers

Broussard claims Embiid wants NY. And may be quietly petitioning for it behind the scenes.

They will probably want young cost controlled guys and a lot of draft picks....

Mitchell Robinson(15), RJ Barrett (25), Grimes(3) and 4-5FRPs (1-2 protected) for Embiid (48)

Embiid (33), I-Hart (15)
Randle(33), Hart (15)
Hart(20), DD (18), Vet Min(10)
Quickley (30), DD(18)
Brunson (35), McBride (13)

A healthy Embiid paired with Brunson while keeping one of Randle or RJ is likely a championship contender

Well, yeah, maybe, whatever.

Broussard clowned himself though. If you're going to be the one who's seeding the rumor then you don't immediately deflate the balloon by saying it wouldn't make the Knicks a contender. If he's that incompetent at promoting his own rumors then I'd say his sauces are as questionable as they've always been.

The right deal for Embiid would make us contenders if you're talking about Brunson and Embiid as your top 2 with a decent supporting cast.

Once you're a contender anything can happen in the playoffs in a league without a truly dominant team and if your core is healthy (Denver has to repeat for that claim to be made).

Broussard is a hack.

Source may be legit but his opinion on his impact isn't

Sure, it could be legit. But most of these guys don't have a source and draw inferences that are hard to refute.

I mean what would you expect of Embiid?

I'd expect him to see Philly's rebuild already in the rear view mirror thinking about where he wants to land next.

And Embiid is one of the only guys in the NBA whose personality would absolutely thrive in NYC.

He can see the possibilities we'd represent and they are likely much better than in Philly.

but you and I can draw that inference just as easily

No Soup for Broussard!

Entire team of Lavar Postell's, Jackie Butler, Frank Williams, 2 Toppins, and a mountain of draft picks. That would be lovely

Another awful shooter.

Also, he is playing as a small ball center.

He's over 30% from 3 for his career, which is serviceable for a big. Dude can play PF. We need 15 minutes per game.

Small sample. He shoots only 2 3s each game (21 minutes). Besides playing small ball center, he gets a lot of open looks being defended by slow centers.

Obi got a ton of open looks here and they have the same career percentage. We don't need a marksman necessarily. A threat is fine. And he is a great defender.

This thread should be a Knicks “Transactions”, not just trades.

Bobby Marks and Howard Beck think that 4/$83M offer is fair for an IQ extension but that IQ will decline it.

Pairing Embiid with Randle makes us a contender....for the worst front court pairing in the league. The good news is that Morey would never trade Embiid to a conference rival.
