4th to 8th is basically a tie right now. We could easily drop to # 8 over a few nights and be stuck in the play-in.

And we could easily climb to 3rd since we are 1.5 game back from that

We are on an upward trajectory

I still don’t see the correlation between his visual LACK OF EFFORT and his ankle. He hustled when he wanted to and visually quit many times including sulking on the court, which has nothing to do with his (physical) injury. It was a disgrace and should have essentially ended his career then and there.

That said, if the ankle narrative helps his image I’m all for it. Go Julius. Just win, you crazy f*ck.

thanks for the support. appreciate it, mane.

what i meant was, i'm a high effort player. never had the athleticism or talent to go far with the game, so i play hard. i wouldn't look like that kind of player with a bum ankle. my effort wouldn't be apparent. i'd look like i didn't care.

Sadly the Knicks don’t pay you $100+m as the face of the franchise. Also, you didn’t sh*t the bed with two healthy ankles the year before. Hopefully third time’s the charm with Julius and nobody is out here making excuses next year for his lack of effort/production in this year’s playoffs.

i don't dispute the notion that julius had already blown his benefit of doubt. i'm just saying if you got a bad sprain there's really nothing that's going to make you look good out there. these are still people playing a game. hobbling is hobbling. i only used myself as an example of someone who absolutely would have benefit of doubt for hustle. it may be some kind of noble gesture to go out and play that way, but it won't be effective.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

No one hates any of the players. It’s just no one ever wants to hear a perspective that’s not MSG influenced based. And When you include the CAA ties with Thibs Randle Brunson and OG one could say it’s them who may have “hated” or was hating all along in plain site. Just saying.

Start at Part 5.

It then covers his free agent signings with the Pelicans and then with the Knicks. The interesting parts of the video start at Part 5 which covers last season and the playoffs. It then covers this season up to the RJ/OG trade including the changes Julius has made to his game.

I think that once you watch it, you'll see how bad Randle's ankle was. It doesn't excuse everything but it provides enough context so that we shouldn't be burying him as a choke artist in the playoffs.

What really irked me in that video was the truth about Randle being used wrongly. I can understand it during the 2020/21 season because the team sucked and there was little talent and playmaking....but generally anyone could see he doesn't handle the ball well, is a mediocre shooter and isn't a great passer despite 5 assists. Really, despite the success I will remain very sceptical of Leon Rose....he may continue to stumble into success but something about him and his moves tells me he really doesn't have much of a basketball mind....Really between IQ, RJ and Julius...we never put those guys in a great position to succeed. IQ somehow was limited to 25 minutes a game, RJ played the 3 the entirety of his Knick career and Julius was used falsely. I mean for god's sake, it never took a basketball genius to realize that Julius would be maximized and most effective attacking the paint and finishing down low. Did Thibs and the FO like really need 5 years to figure out that an attacking Randle in the paint is going to be more effective than Point forward Randle shooting step back 3s?

BTW thanks for the video.

This is true. We don't hate them. We just don't think they are any good. Important to clarify

Randle sucks, Thibs is an idiot, Brunson is selfish, IQ and RJ have the Raptors at Spurs 2014 levels of play. OG is souped up Bullocks

Serious question, is Julius Randle the most under-rated player in the NBA?

No Handle Randle

You're welcome. I thought it provided some well-needed context to the narrative told about him by some here.

I don't know about that. If he continues playing like this he is a top 20 player for sure.....somewhere between 15-20 probably.

And yet I bet a huge number of NBA fans wouldn't even put him in their top 50.

Giannis is clearly better. AD, when healthy is better. I don't really see anyone else who is clearly better. I likely take Bam above Randle due to defense. So I would put him at fourth right now, battling Banchero who has been having a nice season.

Bam is a 5

He's been third team All NBA two times (going on a third?), so I'm thinking that he has to be Top 5 power forward in the league.
