You've got Fournier's expiring, DiVincenzo and Achiuwa if they want players. Mess around and throw some draft picks in they don't. Ingram has to force a trade here, though.

Maybe in the offseason after he refuses an extension. Trey Murphy & Herb Jones are better fits next to Zion anyways. I guess it depends on price because BI could be enough for us to contend when he's healthy, just feels a step (or two) below what we'd need to be one of the favorites.

i think targeting a ball handler should be our priority imo. deuce has started to look like ass again. but we could def use a backup sf/pf too. randle and og might not survive if they can't get any rest. honestly.. why not look into someone like bagley as a backup pf. hes on a cheap contract and he's pretty solid when he gets playing time. nickeil alexander walker would be a great backup SF too.

Make it make sense - how would I suffer when I'm his number 1 fan?

I doubt Sexton would eat into Brunson's mins. He would most likely take some of ddv mins and some of jHarts.

Thibs rotations are a serious problem. This work load is not sustainable. Problem is I doubt brining in guys is going to change that. I also have doubts we will make another move.

It would be nice if we had some cheap cost controlled young players developing but we've been punting the draft.

you just said you dont want to watch drummgawd anymore. make up ur mind greenuan0!!!!

i miss drafting players and debating about them in the draft threads. those days used to be fun. now we get to argue about old vets. lol

See, practical and realistic. There are ten first and second all-NBA players. There are a limited anount of clear cut players who are better and make us clear cut favourites. That would have to be somebody better than Giannis, Embiid and Tatum. That's a ridiculous ask considering they are three first team All-NBA players. You're asking for a trade for Luka or Shai to accomplish that.

See I think we're closer than that. I think a Mitchell or even a Lavine might be good enough for us to legitimately contend. So if someone like Booker got sick of waiting for old guys to get healthy around him and we could bring him in without losing anyone from the rotation, we'd be clear cut favorites.

Caruso, Bogdan, PatWill, and WCJ for DDV, the scrubs, and a few of our less juicy picks

Brunson | Caruso | McBride
Grimes | Bogdanovic
Anunoby | Hart
Randle | Williams
Hartenstein | Robinson | Carter

i think Mitchell and Brunson would look nasty together. Both play the same way and need to shoot and neither can defend in the playoffs. Mitchell, Brunson and Randle against the Bucks or Boston who are still oversized at our positions of strength. Nasty.

Lavine ... meh. Still needs to play with it too much. You need a smooth big catch and shoot, 1 2 pull up guy that doesn’t need the ball but can play with it.

Our lineup is too small. That's why we lose to Orlando and Boston. Mitchell and a small guard can't win. We saw that in Utah.

He and Lavine don't make us clear cut favourites over Giannis, Tatum and maybe not even Embiid. We don't have anybody that can match them but they can match up with us.

I tend to agree.....go big wing and maybe a KAT-Randle based swap in the offseason (only possible if Minny dissapoints in the playoffs). Make the line-up around Brunson super big.

Missing piece for what? A Championship? I don't think that piece exists.

To maximize this season's potential? I guess it's between Murray and Brogdon or someone who can replace what IQ did off the bench.

Randle is being traded for KAT in the off-season

It's been in the works for years

Atleast someone else has figured out the winning formula for KAT's style of play AND the knicks can mimic it with OG/iHart/Robinson.
Only question now is who is going to be next to JB

Jules

Yes, that will the other decision. It could be Murray if that trade occurs now.

On offense, OG will fit well next to KAT because KAT has range and OG is highly mobile. When KAT is in stretch mode, OG can drop inside and when KAT posts up, OG will be ready to shoot from three.

You can continue to start iHart if they can re-sign him for a starting frontcourt of iHart, OG and KAT. That gives us both size and a good balance of offense and defense.

On defense, KAT can play enough help defense even though people keep saying he's soft. Put him in a winning situation in NY and I expect he will at least give average effort on defense when the games are on the line.

Anyway, KAT is the most likely big piece they will trade for in the off-season. They're going to sign Edwards and if they can get Randle at a lower salary, it's another win-win trade for both teams.

Our cap space will get crushed, but this has been the plan all along and Dolan will foot the bill when it means being in contention.

The same way Julius being well on his to a 3rd All-NBA appearance despite them changing the rules to keep him out, has been hilarious, it would be really funny if Randle ended up having a better postseason than Brunson despite everyone assuming that he'll be just as bad as he has been in the past when his ankle doesn't need surgery and teams have to worry about Jalen when they throw #s at Julius.

People would be so mad if a monster round 2 series from Randle propelled us into the ECF

I'd do a KAT-Randle switch in a heartbeat if it makes us better and brings us closer to contention. My loyalty is to the Knicks, not any one player. I've never understood people who are just "player-fans". I want to experience a Knicks championship in my lifetime, doesn't matter who's donning the jersey. To each their own, though.

Who is saying they wouldn't want to make the team better? I was just saying that it would be funny if a player that our fanbases likes to blame for everything ended up leading the team to better and achieve greater success. Which I still maintain that it objectively would be.
