The Grizzlies coach, apparently

they're 1-9 in their last 10

At least they compete! :D

Also, isn't that the same record the Knicks have in that stretch? :D

Knicks are the only team in the NBA with injuries. Memphis coach is just smartly resting his starters.

We all want to sound alarms but have to face reality. This team is greatly compromised right now and with so many players out will struggle to beat above .500 teams with basically just one star player in Brunson leading the charge.

After the all star break we should get quite a few guys back and then another few a few games after that..Thibs system is extremely reliant on certain skill sets to thrive and we were missing a lot of that the last number of games.

We are still 10-11 games above .500 and we saw what we looked like when we were almost at full health with OG playing. The team was 14-2. That is not that small a sample size and not an aberration. This team will very likely return to somewhere close to that type of dominance when they return.

We desperately needed this allstar break. Somebody needs an intervention with Thibs. Have to find ways to better utilize the bench and rotation when guys are out even if it means calling up G-League players or 10 day contract players that can at least bring some energy.

We lost a lot of talented players, and we also lost our identity of defense and good ball movement around Brunson. With so many injuries I dunno if we will be able to get that back until we get more reinforcements. But even when the injuries first happened we still played with that identity. We fought and the ball moved. Now both are gone.

Bojan should be able to fit in at least offensively. Burks just looks really out of place. With the injuries he still needs to play. In a perfect world he brings a different element, but it also comes at a cost. I prefer Deuce as the backup pg. At least he will move the ball and play defense.

What we need to realize is that when Brunson is out of the game there is no replacing what he brings. We will take a hit. Think just going with Bojan and all defensive lineups would give us our best shot. Slow the game down, make it low possessions and buy some time when Brunson gets a breather over Burks forcing up iso's with 20 seconds left on the clock and taking naps on defense.

Then a year later we need to use one of our 1sts to dump his contract, and the board calls it another genius move by Leon to free up cap space.

I'm guessing it won't be before we get BOTH DDV and OG back that Thibs will be forced to deep bench Burks. Till then I think we're back playing FIzdale level ball.

Just want to point out how utterly weird it was that we were clearly dropping back/going under screens for Paulo. Couple of things: (1) it’s true that going into tonight he was a 35% shooter from 3PT on only 4 FGA. (2) He’s shooting the 3 ball at 40% when taking only 0-2 dribbles and (3) he’s shooting the 3 ball at 44% when given 4-6 feet of space (open to wide open). Not to mention the fact that he’s a 25% shooter from the corners but 39% from above the break. Look at his 3s tonight. This man had an Oscars red carpet length to shoot as if he was in an empty gym. It was clearly by design and backfired. He hit 6 threes and the confidence opened up the rest of his game.

As long as they sign the next Brunson with that cap space...

When that happens this stretch before ASG will seem like a bad dream, forgotten.

I hope

Idk why people do this to themselves. When the team is healthy, Thibs is benching Precious.

I think it was by design because we ultimately had to have Precious guarding him who isn't used to guarding on ball in pick and roll. I think the Knicks did the calculus of let Paolo shoot pull up 3's and prove he can make them instead of letting him roast Precious or Sims in iso or in a switch. Or he could have killed us by passing to open shooters if we play drop and collapse. Unfortunately, for us Paolo had a hot shooting night. It happens.

The criticism of Thibs on this board has gotten to completely ridiculous levels (not saying you were being overly critical or anything just a general point) and i'm not shocked because in the entire history of me being on this board there has always had to be a scapegoat for everything bad that happens

What do you think the rotation is going to be, Precious is not playing at all?

Think he's earned a spot in the rotation and certain lineups it makes more sense to go with him over either of the 7 footers.
