If OG gets healthy, we can still make some noise but I’m not sure if OG will get back 100% so let’s wait and see…

I don’t look at it that way. It’s about being smart and avoiding long term damage. Randle waiting this long means he won’t even be ready for the start of next season. Do we want og’s injury to become chronic too ?

The Knicks aren’t winning it all. You need to stop kidding yourselves. If you take out the 3 games he played before he stopped again, we’re not even a .500 team since og was first injured.

Re: Per WOJ - Randle having surgery
I can’t blame Thibs for having Randle in at that time. 4.5 minutes is plenty of time for a comeback. He’s done much stupider stuff that’s more egregious.

Re: Per WOJ - Randle having surgery
I wonder if we will give Randle an extension at the beginning of the next season or not. And how much it will be.
I thought his performance in this playoff would be crucial in the decision-making process to confirm or deny his fame as a bad postseason player.

I think we can beat Orlando and Indiana. I also think we can beat Cleveland again with Mitch close his normal self. We can give Milwaukee a competitive series with OG back too. But no way we can beat Boston, Philly with Embiid back and those **** in Miami.
Honestly winning a round this year is our championship. Kind of like the 1998 team when Ewing went down.

That really was the most exciting game. I think we were 15-2 with Randle, OG, and Brunson. I hate the Miami Heat more than any team in sports. This sucks!FrozenEnvelope wrote:We have such dumb fans who are really bitching about Thibs leaving in his starters with a 15 point lead with almost 5 minutes left against a team like Miami? And people really crying cause we don't do load management on healthy players?
You are embarrassing.

It seems like we will have to pick up Bojan’s option and extend OG and Prince. Let’s see whether OG can play

With a healthy OG, the only team we would have a really hard time beating would be Boston. None of the other East teams seem insurmountable at all with a healthy OG. Think about it... OG is *really* good and Randle's lost minutes are going to be soaked up by Hart and Precious who aren't exactly chopped liver, especially on the defensive and hustle end.
MIL and Philly w/ Embiid would give us the toughest battle out of the rest. I think we would handle Miami, Indy, CLE, Orlando, etc. Just my feeling based on match-ups and experience.

Doctor's everywhere definitely approve and recommend comparing an injury to one person in a completely different part of the body to an injury to a completely different person in a different part of the body.

Re: Per WOJ - Randle having surgery
There's two routes to go this off-season...
1) Stand pat, lock-up iHart and OG, make one more run with this core while maybe swapping Bogs and picks for a bench upgrade... This is a really good option as we'd prob hit 55+ wins and be a top 3 seed with a strong chance at ECF (if healhty)
2) Go big fish hunting... Giannis, Spida, Mikal Bridges, etc. types to get Brunson more help and to move on from the Randle at PF era. In this scenario, there's a strong chance we part ways with Randle, Mitch, and Bogs. The Nova boys are likely kept in tact. This could get us into contention as well, obviously, depending on who we trade for and what we give up.
I'm good with either option. We're in a good place.

Re: Per WOJ - Randle having surgery
Oh well. Not sure what the odds of OG returning are, but without him both he and Randle, we have no chance to make any noise in the postseason. With OG, we have a shot of winning a round.
It would have been nice to see how this group might have done in the postseason when fully healthy, with Jalen having become our 'superstar'.

Brunson missed 2-3 games during the no Ju games as well. Just safe to say it's a 500 team without Julius and OG

Please go ahead and explain how sitting down players with almost 5 minutes left and a 15 point lead is the right thing to do. I dare you.
