I would have thought the weekend would have been enough to weed out the Randle apologists and realize how drastically improved the team is. I guess I forgot this was the Knicks board.

I acknowledge the drop in post season scoring from him. But I think he is more reliable in that regard than Randle, who was even worse and at all-time low efficiency. And that’s who we have to directly compare him to cuz that’s who he’s replacing.

And then I view Mikal as an upgrade overall over Donte.

I think the true indicator of our team’s fate will be health, and ultimately what we do with Mitch.

Do we keep Mitch and start him beside KAT if/when he’s healthy? The KAT/Gobert model shows that can be very successful.

Or do we trade Mitch and try to pry away Trey Murphy then attempt to find a cheap rim protecting stop gap big for Mitch’s scaled down role off the bench?

Randle’s offense goes beyond scoring though. Even on one ankle he still had the best offensive rating on the team and a positive net rating in the heat series. His playmaking ability and gravity that draws double teams opens up the game for the rest of the team. Hence why all of our players have a higher EFG% with Randle on the court versus off the court. KAT doesn’t make his team mates better around like Randle did. If he’s not scoring, he isn’t affecting the game. But yes, KAT is a better scorer in the post season, I won’t disagree about that.

We have to follow the Gobert/KAT model. KAT at the 5 has been super unsuccessful defensively. If Mitch ain’t healthy and we can’t trade him for a different rim protector, we are fked imo.

This wrong. KAT's handles and off he bounce game has improved a ton he's nice handling the ball he at least getting 3.5-5 apg in NY with Thibs' system. He's most likely our secondary ball handler just like Jules was.

KAT is a flawed player...just like Julius is a flawed player.

KAT is just less of a flawed player than Randle and has bit more versatility...and doesn't have a looming contract issue.

Talking crap about a player on another team and then supporting them once your own team or supporting a player on your team then talking crap as soon as they aren't? That doesn't sound like fandom, it's schizophrenia.

Ya'll don't realize how devastating the death-lineup of KAT, OG, Hart, Bridges, Brunson is going to be to finish games.

Boston and Health are our biggest obstacles to a title.

and to further your point- before last December I havent watched this team since Mitch was drafted. I'm unbiased and I always hated on Kat. After watch the Knicks last year and Kat in the play-offs only because I have Jaden McDaniel's on my Knick baf team- I'm confident our team is better and Kat isn't the same young Kat that didnt impress me...

Randle rightfully got sht around here for taking dumb shots. He would pass up open looks to take contested step back 3s. Thankfully we don't get to watch that anymore. Now we get to watch a big who goes ice cold in the playoffs then continue to brick open 3s instead of going inside to get some easy buckets. We traded one dummy for another dummy.

Yes the guy who can barely shoot 50% from the free throw line is going to be allowed to start launching 3's in NBA games and THAT will unlock his game... I don't even hate Mitch like that but some of you Mitch truthers are utterly insane

We been on here calling a trade for KAT a horrible outcome for a while now lol. MPH (I'll give him his credit) is one of the few people that always liked the idea of KAT to NY.

EDIT: I'll throw Context in too I know that's his guy lol.

So did the Knicks trade a stack of picks and young players for KAT? No, it appears they didn't...thanks for showing a lack of reasonable comprehension is what you base your reality on. Now back to the iggy list for you since your posts are empty of value for me.

His contract was accepted by Minny fans because he's stayed there. They don't mind paying him way more than his worth because he stuck with them all those down years. We don't have a history with him so he's just a player worth $30 mil making $56 mil to us. Then the personality fit with the Knicks just ain't strong we known as the meanest fans in the league lol.

I can understand you not liking the trade from a financial flexibility and player durability risk standpoint. But you gotta admit it’s a stretch to state KAT’s a player worth only $30 per year in salary, in today’s NBA salary landscape. Especially after the new league media rights deal and new CBA.

We’ll now routinely see role players making well north of $30 m’s.

cool beans, now if you use your search powers to see my more recent post even after the trade i never switched up and claimed to be kay’s biggest fan or that he’s way better than randle or any of that non sense. i’ve just been rationally saying that i see the reasons for the move and am willing to give it a shot to see how it turns out

His contract IS an issue. It doesn't get more of an issue than paying top 5 money for a player that averages 19 ppg on 57 TS% in the playoffs while being a **** defender. Like it's not a looming issue, it's a current issue we're about to trade Mitch most likely for peanuts man.

he has a Availability issue tho. So that contract is kinda of an issue in some ways.

I am not a fan of the trade by no means, but I wasnt going to schit on to much, as it would be wasted energy from me.
