What we really need is another playmaker/ball handler in the lineup along with an improved bench

The salaries almost match perfectly and JJJ is CAA.

DiVencenzo has been kinda a bust with Minny and wants to come back to us badly. Mitchell Robinson (12.9) and McBride(4.3) goes to Minny and we get Divo (12M) and Rob Dillingham (6.6M).

Minutes/Rotation
KAT (20), JJJ (20), Huk(8)
OG (22), JJJ (13), KAT(13)
Hart (30), OG (12), Wright (6)
Divo(30), Hart(5), Wright(13)
Brunson(35), Wright (13)

Starting lineup

JJJ
KAT
OG
Hart/Divo
Brunson

T-Wolves are high on Divo and Dillingham.

And does Minny really want Mitch and Gobert on the same team?

Correct.

This is also why we’re not getting DiVincenzo back.

Signing Looney would already be enough for me this summer. I’m also ready to trade McBride tbh, maybe even simply for a protected first-round pick. What he brings is nice, but you could survive playing someone like Wright spot minutes instead. Wright has really impressed me during that one stretch, and there are always guys out there, see the Lonnie Walker situation for instance.

Just sign Tre or Tyus Jones, or sign Brogdon, hope that McCullar/Dadiet improve enough in camp to get minutes and compete

Brogdon misses so many games unfortunately

after watching Payne and Deuce, I'm convinced we need to sign a legitimate point guard with the tax payer MLE

best options available are Chris Paul, Malcolm Brogdon, Tyus Jones, maaaybe Dennis Schroder

The rest of the options available aren't real upgrades over what we got. Others are only going to be worse players next season, like D'Angelo Russel.

At least with Brogdon, we may be able to monitor him over the season like we did with Mitch, and make sure he is healthy in the post season

We have players who are productive in the regular season. But we need legitimate talent in the playoffs other than just the starters plus Mitch

I love Giannis but all this has nothing to do with the Knicks.

Warning - this is a hindsight what if.

random thought... how does this team look if they traded for butler instead of bridges? and then maybe mitch/deuce/precious?/filler for sexton and kessler. Not sure how the salary could have worked in either trades (or maybe it's one big 3-4 team deal?) so maybe not realistic to keep everyone I think. Butler's cost was prob a lot higher in the offseason also and knicks didn't want to "wait".

Brunson
Butler
OG
Randle
Kessler

Divo
Sexton
Hart?
Vet big or Huk

I've been a butler hater but hard to deny how much he impacts a team outside of his own counting stats, especially in the playoffs. that team has 3 advantage creators in brunson, butler and randle - and can let brunson play more off ball. kessler gives thibs the rim defense he needs and your only bad defender is Brunson (randle has played good defense this year especially the playoffs). Team is also huge 2-5

Not sure if those trades are possible without giving up Divo/Hart - though I would be fine including hart in the butler trade. Would then need to fill out the roster a bit especially a backup C if Mitch was traded.

But i think that team could have competed with the best teams this year.

I figure just a little bit more will needed to be added but this seems like it would entice the Bucks. Or maybe this amazing tempting package can used for Zion Williamson or an actual young superstar if not Giannis? It's the gift that the NBA gives you every half decade where you want to blow this compartmentalized gift on ONLY the very best. Why waste it? That's a long ass time to get that back, a long waste of biological life for hardcore fans who still somehow follow this.

Giannis would likely not object to this move as the Knicks have KAT & Jalen Brunson.

You need to get all your moves right if you want to win the championship, not just win completely with the KAT trade.

The morons here have did such an insane move to reunite the Nova 4 only to break it up. You will only come so far to come short & face a long waiting period without picks. If anybody puts 100% of their energy into other things (work & girls) on what they could control, they'll probably be happier.

So... Can the Knicks get Giannis for 4 unprotected 1st round picks, swap & Bojan Bogdanovic & a lil bit more?
