Wondering if Jaylen Brown is completely healthy, considering his knee injury. It looks like a lot of Boston fans don't think he's healthy, but I don't feel too bad, considering Brunson is also coming off an injury.

I expect an L today but hope to be pleasantly surprised. I think this series is about to be a real fight.

Yeah melo there are some folks (not you) taking ish into the no go zone, Cap is right. I call Karl "zesty" because he is, and there's nothing wrong with it. I like people who are themselves and not fake ass tough guys. We already know Karl will get his hands dirty in a game if dudes start BS.

The ppl taking ish into the homophobia realm may wanna go Google who Karl's gf is and take a few seats. And...even if Karl wasn't dating a woman...WHO CARES.

Also. If we win tonight, I'll need to start writing an apology letter to Tom

First of all congrats on your first win! Lets keep this streak going.
I agree- not sure what to expect here. The difference for me is before game one I didnt think we had a chance. I also -completely forgot about our final regular season game and the fact that it went into OT. Today I believe the Knick can beat Boston. Will they have a slow start as they usually do?
or will they complete some lay-up lines pre-game and keep their foots on Bostons necks? we'll know in about 9-10 hours.

second. stannis did the Detroit closeout too. we're trying to go streaking here.

I got more respect for Karl, who is his genuine self, over someone like Ja Morant who grew up in the burbs but yet is running around like he's a killer because he got cool with Yo Gotti and them.

Now that to me is SOFT.

I also think KAT could get into better shape but if he is willing to post up being chubby is actually not a disadvantage. It’s padding.

Idk he just reminds me of suburban kid. Our whole team reminds me of suburban kids and they don’t have that streetball edge to them except maybe Mitch who comes off as country but he’s chill too.

Karl IS a suburban kid  he is from Piscataway here in NJ. Pretty much a middle class, diverse suburb. He's not from the hood area next door to it (Plainfield).

Fun fact: Karl went to St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen, my former grade school basketball teammate Jay Williams went there. That was the best player I've ever played alongside in my life. We knew from 5th grade that dude was gonna be a pro.

Karl's family is well known around these parts, which is why it was devastating when his mom and others died during the pandemic.

Karl is not soft yall. Dude has been through a LOT.

If you played high school ball in the GMAC conference, there is a non-zero chance we played against each other (or you played against my brother depending on the age)

Fun fact: My younger brother and Towns were acquaintances and he used to come over and hoop in my driveway. He broke my rim when he was a 7th grader. We also all knew he was going pro.

we need to have a knicks forum hoop meetup one day.

i feel like a bar night might devolve into violence. but some pickup run could be productive.

Brown is clearly compromised and this is why I keep screaming for Josh to start doing off ball screens for OG and Mikal.

Let OG get switched onto Brown and let him play bully ball. That's 26 pts at minimum

the nation doesn't disavow modern approaches to coaching. it is more concerned with the preservation of mettle and fortitude required to win in these moments.

and thus ends today's guard hour.

People used to do the same stuff with Chris Bosh and his mannerisms, on one hand I get it’s funny and most don’t mean anything malicious by it and I doubt he even cares but on the other with the current state of affairs with the whole “thing” let’s call it happening around us I personally choose not to engage in that kind of banter but that’s just me though idgaf what other people wanna do anymore

Edit sorry didn’t see the mod post

Gotta win the series for me. I'd rather not go up 2-0 if it means we ultimately lose the series, because that's far more heartbreaking than coming back to MSG 1-1 and losing.

 !!! I love that. I never asked but how did you feel when the news broke about him being traded here?

We might have!!! I was a year ahead of Jay but I went to another (catholic school), GMAC blue division if i recall. I tapped out Junior year tho to focus on getting into college.

When you play ball with actual pro level prospects you realize pretty quickly the gulf between normal players and literal god level players. I gave up any dreams of going pro pretty quickly

You're so right.

If we win tonight but ultimately lose the series I think Tom might have saved his job. I figured

Sweep or gentlemen sweep = promotion to front office.

6 or 7 games = He's safe.

Now if we win tonight and lose 4 straight, that's another story.

If he wants to prove he's a truly great coach, this is the time, Kristaps is battling HIV/AIDs and Brown looks a little ragged, they're wounded and absolutely vulnerable. Great coaches sometimes overcome the talent disparity, like how Spo used to put the Celtics through hell despite having less offensive talent.

One thing I gotta give Thibs props for...the play at the end of the 4th quarter. Even if Brunson missed the shot, those are the type of plays we've wanted, especially at the end of games. Brunson will make those, if he gets more of those opportunities.

Return to New York Knicks
