Re: PG: Out of our Misery
Hart didn’t have a good series but he’s basically the only guy who is playing team offense on the whole team

Brunson with one of his 'in his head' games. Bizarre no show.
He plays a difficult game for a “Point Guard”
Make the simple pass and play smart fundamental basketball.
hard to play smart IF YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE on the team doing it!

In that time, they've never...not once...won the game after the "if they just play like that again" game. I don't know why, but you could set your watch by it.
this is the only question you have to ask yourself going into the offseason. And its on the FO to figure out why.

Re: PG: Out of our Misery
I tried my best and tune in to Monica this game, still not good enough to help the team. My bad.
As many glaring problems and shortcomings this team having, it's still a good season to conclude for getting past reigning champ and be in ECF.
If we count this as 2nd year of Brunson's breakout season or his prime, I guess there could be two or three more tries. Thus this summer is important, whether to tweak the roster or upgrade the coaching staff. We constructed this team to destroy the Celtics but like that Nugget-beating Twolves, still not good enough to win the champion.
To conclude this season, the three comeback from down 20 in playoff is nice, the triple double by Hart to be the second coming of Clyde is nice; while the ECF game 1 meltdown is not, the way to end this season is disappointing.

5,650,000
But it’s going to be hard to use the full amount and field a team under the 2nd apron.

Re: PG: Out of our Misery
The fact is the Knicks don't have much flexibility to do much this off season unless Leon pulls off some miracles. There is a case to just run it back with a new coach that can unleash this offense.

Really curious if they allow the Pacers to guard SGA like Brunson. Spoiler: they won't.

Mikal had his moments but (as a Nova grad) time to move on. Gimme Donte back.

OG had a good game and solid series, but Siakam (who won the series MVP) was just unreal

Re: PG: Out of our Misery
Sad to realize we all lived to see the Knicks become the Pacers' b*tches.
It was 3-3 until 2000. Now it's 3-6.
The worst part is that this year's loss is by far the worst.
The last two losses (2013 and 2024) were understandable. In 2013, the vets had nothing left in the playoffs and JR Smith forgot how to play basketball in the second round. Melo couldn't carry that team by himself. And last year we basically had no healthy players left by the end of the series.
This year is different. Even with Thibs' poor coaching, we were the better team and we were healthy. That Game 1 loss may be the most humiliating loss in Knicks history and set the tone for the rest of the series.
It's great that we made it to the ECF and beat the Celtics, but I can't help but feeling that last year's team (when healthy) was better.

He ran circles around Thibs all series long. When it comes to chess, Thibs gets outclassed every single time
Also I want to add, Carlisle got Siakam to leak out more often while KAT and Mitch stayed home to get offensive rebounds.

The leak out fast breaks killed us and that is 100% on coaching. I really hope this exit ends with Thibs leaving.

I Woulda been cool with that
Honestly if they didn't have New York on their jerseys I doubt I would watch this team play. They have some very good individual talents but the team had no identity on either end of the court and at times they play some of the ugliest basketball I have ever seen. Personally it's not a fun team for me which is a weird thing to say about a team that came this close to the finals.

No over thinking, that’s it
i don't think so. it got worse as the year went on.
Not true, we actually got better during the course of the playoffs…
Pacers were just had more chemistry than us
