I know I'm biased but I legit think moving the team to Hartford is the best solution for everyone, except Boston fans in the short term
The Sun have a great fanbase already, moving to closer to where the people live would only help that, PeoplesBank is a legit arena (15k seats after renovations, so not as big as NBA arenas but not that far off), the tribe still gets the same amount of money (a little less but not by a ton), and the league shows good faith by rewarding a fanbase which has stuck by through the bad times
And Boston would still eventually get a team, just not for like a decade or so, except it gets to be wholly theirs from the start
I just know that if the team goes to Boston, we're never getting another one. Cause CT is too small to justify expanding to, but Boston will always have the ability to be a market
Funnily enough, this is sort of the reverse of what happened with the Patriots in the 90s, they wanted a new stadium, Boston didn't want to give it to them, so they were all set to move to Hartford to share with UConn, and then Foxborough swooped in at the last second so now the UConn football team plays at a stadium 45 minutes away from campus for no reason, which had to be scaled down because it was no longer gonna be shared with an NFL team.
