He’s just not strong enough. He can’t move defenders at all. Constantly gets stone walled. Has to shoot the three better to make up for his lack of strength and speed. Hopeless on the defensive end.

The lack of strength was a real issue last year, too.

Unfortunate cause we could really use a traditional pg off the bench. But even those a/t numbers are putrid.

I mean obviously we need to see him versus NBA level comp but there is a lot to work with. He reminds me of early Pascal Siakam

I've posted the same comparison, to Siakam, a couple times too. I'm really seeing that. Hope the team can develop him at Westchester this year plus some time in the big team

He's still a little raw, but there's a lot that's already developed.

He's not raw as in "maybe" but "when"

Missed the game but absolutely loved reading the thread.

Nah, Thibs used to kill the kids before they played, but I think what Brown will do for us is like that Chinese proverb - let all flowers blossom, just kill the damn weeds.

Just getting him reps during the season defensively will be a big help to the team. Like he's literally the perfect development piece of play behind OG.

See this is why I warned folks not to throw out the name Mark Price like that  that dude was no joke.

But I think it's imperative now that we get another vet guard on the roster. Kolek struggling in SL is honestly unnerving. Like I'm not saying he should be destroying people but we saw better play from him versus NBA competition than this slop

Team structure seemed a lil fcked up during sl so maybe that was it. Or he is dealing with something. Idk, the numbers are putrid. Worse than what he has shown. But the concerns are there. He doesn't seem to have an nba body and like others pointed out he needs to put up big offensive numbers to make up for his poor defense.

Devon Grant. Yes, he's pretty bad. He might be shooting bricks for Westchester this year, but even for summer league he's not good. At least, that was my impression a few games ago.

Can't believe I recorded this game but I did and just finished watching.

Kolek looked better last summer league, when we were contrasting him with Rokas. And Rokas was pretty good, better than Baba.

Pate has an NBA body and is athletic. Needs to tighten his handle as does Diawara . Both hopefully do well in GLeague this year. Not sure they can catch up to the timeline of the current core, and contribute.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

He's big. He's not one of those skinny tall guys, he's got some bulk to him, but not in a slow way, he's built a little bit like Dwight Howard.

But that's not a Howard comp, because Howard could play and got ROY votes and Nnaji is raw. He made some good rebounds. There are some tools there, but he's either a two-way contract this year or a stash in Europe, but there's a chance he becomes a useful rotation player in a couple years. I think there's some upside.

Pate's ceiling seems very high, but his floor is still a bit low. I have a really good feeling about this young kid and want to see him turn into something special for us.
