melo has played in the playoffs and hit a buzz beater in them, i think he can handle the pressure anywhere

Just because you hit a buzzer beater in a game doesn't make you ready for the pressure of playing in New York.

If Carmelo had the balls to wait it out, it would show he is ready for the pressure.

But he doesn't and he isn't.

James didn't want to play in NY, does that mean he can't cope with pressure?

Yeah there's a spot light yada yada, Melo would do perfectly fine here and everyone knows it.... the fact that the guy wants his money and wants out of Denver has zip do to with pressure.

( ESPN First Take on Melo )

I think those two pretty much got it right. . everyone and anyone other than Amare (and probably Felton too..) is gone if Denver really wants them. . yes we have "leverage", and would be "okay" without Melo, but lets not fool ourselves - getting Amare and Melo on the same team would do BIG things for us.. we should be working feverishly to get that to happen at just about any cost..... now how many is where we draw the line, but who (other than Amare and Felt), shouldn't really be a question...After Amare Felton it probably goes Chandler Fields Gallo down the line (in terms or who we want to keep)

but again, as they point out, lets not fool ourselves into thinking " Melo would be okay, but I like our team now" ... "we can do fine, we just need a center!" blah blah blah... Getting Melo would put us at a level far and beyond what the current group go do, even with a center.... That's how good an Amare Melo combo would be.... and lets be realistic, we'd still have a bunch of pieces, depending on the deal, around those two.... Chandler and Fields hopefully.

I don't know. Dude played big for Syracuse and had some pressure being the best player in college and he came through.

So Tuesday is "The Decision: Melo Edition"? Would be great if he declines the extension and paves the way for NY, but I would also be happy to find out that hes off the market if he goes to NJ so we can be players before the trade deadline and not be held hostage by this BS anymore.

I honestly think that the arrogant Russian mobster is going to trade for Melo without an extension...He's positive that he can get Melo to sign before he hits FA if he can get him to the Nets

I'm just not sure that Melo is going to lose that much money, if any at all, if he waits until FA to sign with the Knicks...I don't think the max salary # is going to come down that much, first of all...Second of all, Melo will know that he can make much more money off the court with the Knicks...He can make significantly more in endorsements with the Knicks vs. the Nets...It's why guys like Kidd and Jefferson are so bitter about their time in NJ...It's like no one cared that they went to the Finals in back to back years and they never really benefited from it financially...Melo can make much more in jersey sales, clothes, shoes, his Jordan line, etc...And it would probably benefit Lala for Melo to be with the Knicks vs. the Nets...She'd probably make more and have more opportunities if he was a Knick

Add all of that up and I don't think he's going to lose too much money, if any at all...I really don't think the max # is going to drop that much

The post was stating a question (not yelling) of, if we found a team who wanted Mayo (maybe Houston or someone) who could we get from that team to send to Denver in addition to the package we are offering Denver in the deal for Melo.

I think he's a gambler by nature. It would not surprise me if he simply does the deal without the extension. Well I guess it would surprise me a bit, but far from shock me.

He thinks he can convince Melo once he's there and I think he's completely unwilling to concede this one to the Knicks.

Our leverage is that we are still in this while I believe we have more talent and prospects than nj but denver likes their prospects more so a deal would have been done already if not for our leverage we are still gonna have to give up pieces not just scraps because they can just say F U and hold him for the season.

Come on, BK has been a GM for a while, and Avery is a smart basketball mind-- these people consulting Provk, this is not a possibility.

That would be true if he valued their opinions over his own belief in his talents. I don't think that's necessarily true.

Bingo! But we can only hope that Melo understands that. I agree with you that the arrogant Russian seems ready to trade for him with no extension in place (pretty stupid but hey it's his team).
