Wait Thugger... Does Houston not shoot as many 3's as NY does?

How is Houston who shoots just as many three's as NY does with the same player you're saying would not help NY because he doesn't shoot the three well help Houston win.. because they're winning.. just as much as NY has been winning?

And sorry my dude.. but steals and rebounding are a huge part of what constitutes playing defense.

And Lin being a good player.. a guy who wasn't drafted and was on the verge of losing his job is way more of an achievement that Gallo being a good player who was a pro before he was even the 8th pick of the draft... so I don't see how him being "just" a good player and "not" being that guy is a slight in him. No one expects him to be "that" guy.. he's "that" guy I want to watch more than a lot of other guys but that's my preference.

Sure they do, but that's not the point....we're talking about players and Lin shooting has regressed, especially from three.

You're proving my point though, I said the team wins DESPITE felton but you want to believe the Rockets are winning primarily because of Lin when there is nothing to support that.

Please explain Lin's PER TS and WS for me in reference to the rest of the starters.

Find me where I said the Rockets are winning primarily because of Lin? Come on man... I said the only person you can point being primarily responsible for them winning is Harden.

I'm not even a Felton fan and I won't even go there... he's contributed to the Knicks success a lot more than he hasn't .

I'm looking for his PER TS and WS for the month of December because quite frankly the player he is now and was in December is closer to the player I believe he really is. He had a horrible start to the season and I believe the rockets were under .500.

Tell me this... and I'm no advanced stat guy... I'm not going to front.. but why is PER a better stat then APER?

Should I tweet Hollinger for an accurate answer?

Because according to his APER which sounds like a better metric according to the formula than PER Lin is only second to Harden out of the starters.

Yeah, no, I fully agree that Harden is by far the biggest reason for the Rockets success. I think Lin has been valuable a piece though.

Just browsing you know... I found this stat also... can someone smarter than me explain why Lin is ranked ahead of any his teammates in this defensive plays stat?

isn't APER an adjusted PER? Why would i use that?

Because it isn't based on estimations.

I know why you wouldn't use it.. and I also know why I'd use it.. Heck it helps my argument more than it does yours.

I'm tweeting Hollinger the guy who came up with the formula.. maybe he'll respond.

It's a virtual tie in pretty every defensive rated category such as DRTG and DWS

He's not LEADING any category.

I wouldn't use it because it isn't a real time rating system, it's like per 36 for a player who plays 15 minutes a game.

It's a facet of PER.

I'm not even going to fool with the advanced stats... they don't ever tell the whole story. But I'll tell you this they're not slanted in the direction you're trying to use them. BFD his PER isn't as good as Parsons or Asik..

Maybe he's telling his coach to sit him, without his team getting fined for it.
