Lebron is obviously the best player on the Lakers and Jokic is obviously the best player on the Nuggets. PPG really doesn't tell the entire story

It does, if you look at it in terms of this series. AD was the series MVP. He hit a game winner. Outside of that Lebron flurry in garbage time he hadn't really had the best series. And Jokic was made to be invisible. The one game they did win was on Murray's shoulders.

Murray was better than Jokic in this series.

I’m not convinced Jokic is the best player on the Nuggets. Murray was the best player in the Utah series and was the only reason why the Nuggets didn’t get swept, had a 40 point game 7 against the Clippers and was also better than Jokic in the Lakers series.

This is why I can’t say Joker is the best big man in the league when I’m not even sold on him being the best player on his team.

Was this the last game that we have to listen to Webber and Reggie? Nice.

Probably Tatum or Murray right now. I basically have 2 #1 options on my team :o

What’s the final verdict?

AD or Jokic?

Jokic better #1 option, but debatable if a team with him as the #1 can get over the hump

AD better #2 option.

Is Jokic a #1 option though? Didn’t really seem like it in these playoffs

I get what you’re saying. He can be the primary facilitator/ engine of the offense, but not necessarily the guy to put up big points every night.

I also think Murray is a championship level #2 scorer.

Ironically, the #1 guy who’d fit in perfectly is AD. DEN fans kept talking about it last year, with AD being an absolute perfect fit, but they felt their organization wouldn’t bother to call about him b/c they assumed he wouldn’t re-sign.

Talk about a dynasty (if AD stayed after they traded for him). They’d win 5 rings in the 2020s

Not really the entire story though. The #1 guy they game planned against was Jokic and they did everything they could to get the ball out of his hands and thru multiple goons at him. Denver really had nobody to match up against AD...part of that is on Jokic for not being a good defender but denver also really had nobody else.

AD was def the mvp. But Lebron is def the better player.

Jokic could have asserted himself more offensively but that is also just part of his game where he will look to pass out of the doubles and not force too much.

That's true. AD has been dealing with multiple goons on him his entire career though in NO and nobody gave him any sympathy so Jokic gonna have to just learn from this, and he'll bounce back and be better next time. And the Nuggets need to get an enforcer to put near him in times like this. Howard really did have him shook. Reminded me of Dennis Rodman in this series.

As a #1 option you have to take over games though. Jokic was invisible these last 3 games when they needed him the most. He has to step it up. That’s why I don’t believe in him as a #1 option. Hopefully next year he will bounce back.

Lebron makes scrubs look good so we see what he can do with AD who was a beast already. Lebron won with KLove he could win with Jokic too

Obviously it is the Lakers quick fix model that Dolan had been wanting to follow.

The league doesn't fix for the Knicks like they do for the Lakers though.
