Ok so In 3 years with the Knicks Randle averages 44.3% fgs , 21.2 ppg , 9.9 rpg and you can’t build around him but you fail to realize Knicks have NOTHING BETTER.
Then and now he has been the bar for player talent which the Knicks can barely match or exceed .
The big plan is to overpay for a guy who worse defensively and shooting the same percentage from the field .

Even so Julius is not even a wrench in that plan . Get yourself some better players before you turn up your nose acting like this guy ain’t good enough for YOUR team .

forget the individual stats, here's the stone cold reality. donovan mitchell as a primary scorer has multiple winning seasons under his belt. julius randle as a high usage player has produced losing seasons 2/3 times. if we acquire mitchell, especially because we'd be pairing him with brunson in the backcourt, randle doesn't naturally slide to "third best player" on the floor. his game is ball-dominant, or at least he insists upon playing that way, so he is not a fit with our new best players and should be moved for that reason. i am not one of those bent out of shape people saying "julius randle sucks", but i do think that replacing him as our best player is a good thing and that we have enough evidence to know we shouldn't gamble on him taking the adjustment down the totem pole well on the team he signed to lead
