Do you think the relationship between KP and Phil has improved since 2 days ago? Players do not like their names publicly put out there in trade talks by their own GM, case in point, Melo.

Do you think Phil's stooge, Rosen putting out that stupid hitpiece was a good idea? Or equally innocuous like EVERYTHING else I'm assuming

The relationship will improve when KP picks up the phone.

Why should we care what players like when they are actively refusing to work the organization? I don't understand this need to kowtow to someone on a rookie contract with 2 more years on it.

The Rosen article is getting more attention because of the relationship between him and Phil. That's fair. I don't think it matters in the big scheme of things when Phil is asking the moon and stars for KP in trades, and will probably end up keeping him.

If KP stays, which I think he does, you will see KP and Phil together and all this crap won't mean a thing. I love that someone mentioned KP can stay in Latvia...the craziness has gone to the next level around here.

What does any of that have to do with this situation?

KP is being shopped because he has concluded that our franchise is highly dysfunctional. It is. It has been for years. Phil is absolutely a part of that dysfunction.

I don't agree with KP blowing off the exit interview, or not returning Jeff's call. But it's taken us so long to acquire a player who could impact the game on both ends of the court.

Phil needed to handle the Anthony situation behind the scenes. He needed to stop leaking his displeasure through Rosen. He's only made the situation worse - and, as you well remember, I am the original Anthony hater.

Phil has actually made Anthony into a sympathetic figure for me.

KP is also part of that dysfunction. That can't be ignored. He made his stand, Phil is responding. What other response is there when the player blows off a meeting, doesn't answer your call, doesn't answer the coach's call and then sends his brother when you thought you were meeting with him?

Honestly asking. At what point does it make sense to see what you can get for him?

Could Phil have handled Anthony better? Absolutely. But I'm referring to the quotes he gave in articles. I don't have any issue with Phil saying that if Melo wants to win, he should seek a trade, since we will be rebuilding.

That is a fair statement to me.

Phil is asking for so much because, as he said, we value KP and we love KP, but we have to do what's best for the club. It could not be less complicated than that. You think because the media is having a field day that it means something to our need to improve the team? F the media, F twitter, who cares. Shouldn't he WANT to win the trade and get as much as possible? How is this a negative?

You see how this is backfiring right? No trade will be made, in all likelihood, and now KP hates you even more. You'd THINK Phil learned his lesson from his dealings with Melo this past.

And sure F the media and twitter but that does affect prospective free agents' perceptions.

You know a trade won't be made? You got the powerball numbers also?

Go back and actually read what Phil said about Melo. Read his words carefully. He was bordering on graciousness when it came to Melo. When did Melo, one of the most selfish players of the past 15 years, become a martyr?

I am glad Phil is doing due diligence to improve the team. Nobody should be untouchable.

Why do we need to sign free agents so badly right now? Are players lining up to go to any of the teams in the lottery other than the Celtics? You know, people have been saying since Dolan was hired we've been a joke and yet every year we have cap space we manage to spend it.

I think he can be a potent offensive weapon in the right system.

But if that deal happened where we'd have 3,7,8, we should round out the perimeter for once. There are so many good backcourt players in the lottery. Take advantage of it and potentially have your PG / SG / SF of the future.

I'm against trading KP, but at least recognize the overwhelming amount of big men that are available through other conduits.
