no... i get your point just fine.

just in the throes of excitement you sometimes say things that are not accurate. the things i point out aren't to diminish your points. you just get so hopped up you throw in inaccuracies.

shoot. mess with me and your posts can be teflon. i want you to win properly. don't lose the patient over the unnecessary medical error, right?

I edited my post just now to include quick’s minutes. I don’t think what I’m saying is inaccurate. Again it’s how you’re viewing it. I said quick should have been playing more not less in that series. Quick deserved to be the back up to rose, yet elf was still getting minutes in that series to the end, while Alec Burks ate a majority of minutes at the 2

Rose and quick would have been a great two guard tandem to START. Instead he was buried.
The common theme in Thibs’ tenure was that he always buried the patient before he saw if his meds were working, no? When he finally saw what worked, it was too late. At the end of the day, when we had elfrid freekin Payton starting when we had rose on the bench, we were cooked. So my points can get nitpicked to the end for inaccuracies or discrepancies, it still doesn’t take away from the fact that the front office saw exactly what I was seeing. A day late and a dollar short. You can’t just lose games and go down one or two games in playoff series. That’s what coaching is about and that’s what life is about. You make the adjustment before someone gets the edge on you. Not the other way around.

let me re-clarify.

you said something about obi that was inaccurate -- that he didn't get enough of randle's backup minutes. i corrected that he got 100% of the randle backup minutes. as usual, you took the rest of it somewhere else -- your greater points about thibs.

i correct inaccuracies because as a moderator i want to see good faith conversations. i think accuracy is something we should all want in a space where we're talking ball. some things are matters of opinion. (note how i leave those be.) obi backing up julius randle is a matter of fact thing.

then i just added the quickley bit as an example of a rookie and young player who also played meaningful rotation minutes. i didn't say anything about who else was playing or defend elfrid's minutes in the mix. i didn't say anything about thibs being right or wrong, good or bad. i don't think anything i said threatens or challenges your overall stance.

Right, but if we are going to clarify each of my points, I’m going to rebutt your points when you said he averaged minutes in the 20s as a reserve.
That’s simply not accurate, Like I listed, quick had a downward trend in that playoff series against the hawks with the minutes at 21, 15, 15, 13, 13, when he should have been averaging MORE.

Again the point I’m trying to clarify here based on accuracy, quick averaged a higher +/- in those limited minutes compared to elf or burks, but saw a declining rate of minutes. He did not average 20 minutes as you said. I’m all for being accurate, but the message I’m trying to get across isn’t inaccurate, which leads to my Overall point about Thibs. He could never READ THE ROOM. He was rigid and formulaic. The same way he played his vets over rookies or bench guys then, is the same way he did it now. He never adjusted IN GAME, and in a field that require constant change and growth, he just did so at a slower pace.

I agree with most of this other than the relationships thing, this front office has been full steam ahead on bringing in anyone who knows someone. Between the thibs and Rick and Jalen or going for all caa guys or the nova connection it’s all relationships so I don’t really understand that point.

and my quickley note was not localized to the atlanta series. minutes in the twenties were his norm as a knick.

Yesterday, Thibs lost his job
Am I happy to see a man lost his dream job? Nah
But man did that dood cause my hair to fall out at an alarming rate
He always fell back to what was comfortable, and sometimes, being uncomfortable is what brings the best out in us. It allows growth, and adaptability

Am I sad he’s gone? Nah
Am I happy he’s gone? Nah
I’m happy for the Knicks we get a new voice with new philosophies

I’m way more excited about this offseason now than I was 24 hours ago.

Imagine having any young role player in your team like Kolek or Hukporti and being depressed that they’ll literally never play - even in 40 point blowouts unless there’s a minute left. It’s sad.

I’m excited to have a bench again - and develop bench players properly. I’m excited to have an offensive scheme. I’m excited to get someone who can gameplan and adjust in game.

Don’t get it twisted, though - we still need to get rid of KAT. He doesn’t work with Brunson. He’s the odd man out. We need to scour the entire market. Let’s see what Memphis wants to do with Jaren Jackson Jr. we don’t need home run moves - just smart moves and building the most balanced roster possible.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Herein lies what I mean. I can dissect a statement you make the same way you dissect mine. Did I know you were referring to Quick’s minutes for the regular season? Of course I did, but tersely highlighted that specific err in typing you made do suit my narrative. I say all this to say, Sometimes I feel you’re coming for my head on my posts bro.
My posts aren’t inaccurate, I post a whole lot of videos, points, and stats to back up my perspectives
All my posts aren’t going to be perfect, but what I was trying to get across in the original post was that the Thibs’ decisions in that Atlanta series started my frustration with him. I didn’t have getting into a nitty gritty with you about Obi and Quick minute allocations on my bingo card from that post

I actually like going back and forth you, because you know I mean well with my posts. You’re one of the posters that also make me see the game, and “why” certain decisions are made on the court from another perspective. Again I’m not always perfect, but the same way you can point out and interpret an “inaccuracy” in my post, is the same way I can for you as well. How you viewed my Obi statement as being “inaccurate” is the same way I can view your quick 20 reserve Minutes as “inaccurate”. But I generally don’t do that because I know what your overall point is and respect it.

All love bro

My money is on Thibs being the odd man out. IDK if it’s this summer or mid-season but I bet they make tweaks to stack the bench with defenders/shooters/fresh legs and if Tom refuses to adjust they just bring in Mike Malone.

This drunk Knick fan in the tunnel yelled “get us Giannis” to Leon and Leon looked disgusted. I don’t see them it blowing up. IMO the weakest link, easiest to replace, and most vulnerable is Thibs. If Malone is in. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an announcement sooner than later to quash Giannis rumors.

My post game-6 comments. Seemed like the vibe in the tunnel was KAT forever, Thibs never.

It makes perfect sense. Rose put their chips on the table before this season began and he has plenty of data to back up his belief the key pieces are already in place.

Only a fan with an anti-KAT agenda would believe Rose wants to blow a big hole in the starting line-up and reset.

This roster's weaknesses and flaws and chemistry issues are addressable from within, i.e. coaching.

Having a wider rotation and developing young talent will be the other benefit now.

Could we possibly see a shift with KAT to the 4, OG at the 3, ‘Kal at 2 with Huk and Mitch eating those minutes at the 5?
I’m really excited again, less than a week after being ousted
I wonder what the new philosophy will look like and new defensive schemes to mask KAT

Possibilities are endless. I hope we see kolek get a decent shot at backup PG, delon showed that he can be useful in that role as well, we’ll have McCullar and hopefully his defense is as real as the hype, pac can grow, huk can grow. Maybe shamet sticks around for some vet presence. Cam for moral support.

And hey if we move some of these guys for new additions at least we know they’ll probably get a fair look too. Not just buried and hiding behind 37 mpg starters

I'm excited, but still committed to the quantitative easing of my Knicks involvement in the future. This news came so fast on the tail of the end of the playoffs that I feel temporarily Godfathered Three'd back into this, because this bodes extremely well for the franchise and I'm happy for y'all (other than a handful of weirdos here who crapped on anyone who had legit beefs with Thibs; where are they today?).

KAT is a PF in a C's body. He plays facing the rim. He defends better on the perimeter. Should have been figured out a long time ago. KD is 7 feet and a F. Dirk was 7 feet and a F. Nobody tried to make them guard the rim. KAT's deployment this season was a complete farce. The guy is a deadeye three point shooter and a threat down low and we made him charge from 30 feet out into the paint most of the time. Freaking absurd coaching.

The main consideration this roster will need is who is Brunson's backcourt mate. They need a floor general with excellent defense to relieve Brunson of bringing the ball up every time and run the offense through different players. Brunson will be more deadly once he plays more off the ball and is not the sole method for running the offense. That player is not on this roster. Wright is good, but average as a playmaker and shooter so not really good enough to fill that role as the starter.

Brunson needs a Derek Harper or Chauncey Billups type player next to him.

Either that or the next coach unlocks Brunson as a playmaker and they figure out the Brunson to KAT connection that never happened. Regardless, they will still need a defender with some size (not Deuce) next Brunson next season.

Players I think could be moved or come off the bench are Hart and maybe Mikal. My guess is the FO believes in Mikal far more than the fans and that he will blossom with a new coach. For that reason, he may simply be the guy starting next to Brunson along with OG, KAT and possibly Mitch.

namecalling not necessary. -JVG

Very solid points Clyde
Seeing Brunson off ball for once, along with Kat at the 4, and NOT rim protecting is sweet music to my ears

Very solid points Clyde
Seeing Brunson off ball for once, along with Kat at the 4, and NOT rim protecting is sweet music to my ears

Now stop talking to me! I have to go back to sleep now. Good night

Haha I liked Woodson a bit and thought Phil fired him unfairly, the roster when he got canned was very unbalanced but I don’t think he would be a good rehire right now. If we are digging up corpses it’s gotta be Jeff

Mike Miller too, let’s dig him up, he was ‘bout dat bidness for a solid 44 games

That’s another corpse I’ve leave in the grave lol
