Yeah, my only problem with this is LaLa has plenty of money. Why does she need Melo's. She has her own career, why does she need a man's money. Even if he didn't cheat, and they were getting divorced, he'd still have to pay big. Got no problem giving it all to the kids though. Women put up with a lot of nonsense when they have kids. It's not about you. It's about the kid. You will turn the other cheek on crap you know is wrong because dude is a damn good father. I have seen women stay with broke dudes that stomp them on a regular basis because of children. Most women put their kids first and will go through pure hell behind closed doors with their husband/live in boyfriend simply because they have a child by the dude. They want him around for the child.

Everything comes to a head though. This was Lala's limit.

Lala can live better than most people on her own without a single dime from Melo. Her willingness to even sign a prenup shows that she was in it for the long run. That doesn't scream gold digger to me. Most gold diggers refuse a prenup.

Of course there are other reasons women stay. Why did Hillary stay with Bill? Why did Beyonce stay with Jay? Why did Vannessa stay with Kobe? Why did Kendra stay with Hank?

Some women are:
still in love
wanting to keep a family together
financially dependent
career dependent
low self esteem
don't want to fail


So on and so on. The fact is we don't know why LaLa stayed.


Lala isn't financially dependent nor career dependent on Melo since she had money and a career long before Melo entered her world.

A "life she's accustomed to" is a weak argument too since she wouldn't go from rich to dead broke. She would go from rich to well off even without a dime from Melo. There is but so much she would have to sacrifice for her peace of mind and having peace in your world is priceless in my opinion.
