Jesus. This situation is absolutely horrifying. There was definitely worry in the analysis of him before the draft, but holy sh*t he got pulled from SL and then didn't even make it to the regular season of his rookie year before a significant knee surgery.

I never feel bad for fans of other teams or opposing players because it's sports and f*ck everyone that's not with me, but this is the closest I've come. After that tweet and this video below, what is the absolute BEST you can realistically/objectively hope for as a NOP fan if his skill pans out in the league? 5 dope years with 2-3 of them as a transcendent player?

And if I recall correctly this gait/standing situation (valgus) is exactly the stuff that led to a poster specifically calling Porzingis' ACL tear months before it happened.

I am so glad I'm not being put through this as a fan right now.

it's terrible for the kid and even the nba in general. i can see past my knicks fandom and feel bad for him.

i actually like brandon ingram but i don't know that he's a star, i just don't. having the rest of this year to watch would be helpful. the only guy from this group who i would feel comfortable with the risk is pascal. he seems the most likely to pan out for me and be one.

I like Ingram but Knox has just as much if not more potential. I'd rather just develop Knox

Yeah, that's the horrifying part to me. I really hope - for his sake - that he isn't significantly negatively altered by all this and the weight/injury concerns are just noise in the grand scheme of things.

As a petty Knicks fan who caught all kinds of shrapnel this summer because of the Pelicans, I'm much less concerned.

Wow the Knicks may have dodged a serious bullet here.

JUST THINK WHAT IF:

--the Knicks signed KD and KI
-- the Knicks drafted Zion

What would fans be saying about a curse?
Avoided another Amar'e blowup. This would've been awful for the development.

I wouldn't say the Knicks dodged a bullet. Because we would have drafted him if he was still up lol.

This was my only concern with Zion. I usually say there's a first time for everything, but you never see guys with his figure last in the NBA. Why is Zion a special case? It's still a 82 game season.

Rest doesn’t regrow cartilage. It’s bad news. Possibly the worst news.

Knicks would have been made of glass if we had KD, Zion, KP/Kyrie lol. Every season would be "if healthy" "if healthy". I'm already tired of that with my Mets.

I always said it, one day we are gonna look at the contracts being handed out to marginal players and realize....Zeke wasn’t as bad as made out to be.

Nah he kinda was.

Ingram has a little bit of what KP has as a question mark — is he using his height a lot, is he a great shooter or is his height and lack of strength not a great mix? Is he mobile for his length and that’s impressive by itself as a novelty or does it help you win? Offensive only bc KP’s height is major on D.

I think Ingram is better now offensively but KP has a higher ceiling.

I would say Knox has a better combo of size and tools but his motor is a major concern.

Agree that Siakam would be 1 on my list among these guys.
