In other Democratic Primary news, the hype about primary challengers to the Squad has fully proven to be much ado about nothing. Pressley went unchallenged while Talib, AOC and Ilhan Omar all faced challengers with assorted backing. AOC faced Wallstreet money for example and Omar...well Republican Groups tried to help get her out; Omar was the one squad member to be outraised by her primary opponent.

Read on Twitter

AOC smoked her opponent, Rashida crushed the buildings against an opponent who had run a much closer race against her last time and Omar's race has already been called (last I checked she was up 18%). The key takeaway for me is that in their home districts and communities; Squad members are really really appreciated. A lot is made on the national scale about them with both negative and positive frames but these women spoke to their communities and continue to speak to their local communities in ways that make them uniquely difficult to unseat. As a matter of fact, if I'm not mistaken (close enough to certain that I'm not bothering to double-check but don't take my word for it and check the numbers) all three women got larger portions of voters this time around than last.

Wingo asked about up and comers. I know he probably knows these names but the standout newcomers that we'll keep our eyes on for the progressive movement that have won are: Jamaal Bowman (NYC stand up, he's a Knicks fan too); Mary Newman; Mondaire Jones; and Cori Bush (she's in Knock Down the House on Netflix which also shows AOC's first run).

One last bit of interest, a name for the Yang Gang to monitor. A young cat named Christensen is running with UBI on his platform in FL for Ted Yoho's soon to be vacated seat. Yoho owned the spot, so I suspect this is tilting at windmills; but Libertarians like UBI and I've never run into more Libertarians than when I've visited family and friend in FL...so I'm just curious to see if he can put up an interesting score.

The Squad's staying power just beat out a lot of money thrown their way at what I'm thinking will be comfortably above a 2-1 margin when we get final results and combine them. Another second generation Squad is coming now. The new generation of progressives is already building a better roster than we've had in recent years.

One last election watch with regards to the OG's. Markey vs Kennedy is interesting. One dude is a big time progressive (Markey), the other is running as a progressive to unseat him while also carrying the Kennedy name. This one looks tight; I think most leftists would agree that Markey is far and away the better choice for our goals. But it's a race to watch for lefties and progressives.

At least get a publicist to delete some of these humiliating tweets.

Trump will do that, but he doesn't even have to. The audience will think it so regardless of what Trump does in that moment. That is the purpose of seeding the politic with Slow Joe, Hiden Biden and highlighting his many unforced errors and gaffes.

When it comes, and it will, doubt seeds will land in already fertilized ground.

Personally I think the big Biden hit will come in the form of Joe getting all riled up about something Trump says during the debate and showing anger. I've seen it a few times from Joe and it will turn off voters.

Trump will get Biden to flip out. You know he's going to be pushing those buttons.

Highlight his unforced errors and gaffes is the way Trump and his campaign deflect from Trump's MANY MORE unforced errors and gaffes.

Well then, Joe should just be Joe he has nothing to worry about. I disagree and we'll see how it plays out to see who's right. Of course we're both partisans so either one of us may not be seeing the forest for the trees.

The debates will be fun.

I wonder who will huff the most Aderal because Biden was on something for his last debate with Bernie because I kept waiting for the mental stumbles throughout the debate and got none. Joe lied his ass off but he didn't stumble mentally. I we all remember Trump from '16 with his nose-breathing issues (LOL, that was a riot).

I can just imaging them both in their respective doctor's offices getting injected with some kind of neon green goo that will transform them into normal speaking people who lie a lot.

No, but apparently Biden is just as awful as Trump, thus proving all politicians suck so who cares. Rinse, Wash, Repeat.

All of they above.

Staying on message and beating you over the head with it is so 20th century, propaganda wise.

All the cool authoritarians look to bury you under a blizzard of bullsh*t nowadays.

 I was just thinking about this. Blatantly banning certain media (arts, lit, news, POVs) is too obvious so instead conspiracy theories and baldface obfuscation are championed to muddle objective information into oblivion. Why ban the media when you can disempower it through alternative facts?

Most brains cannot handle the waves of information they consume each day, so disinfo is like a tsunami that disorders reason. It is strange to watch though, because many of the perpetrators of these tactics, from the WH down to Joe Schmoe posting online, are not the brightest in the bunch. They just know it works so anytime someone feeds them some meme word salad they instinctively pay it forwards. It really only takes a handful of geniuses lurking in the shadows to weaponize tens of millions of people to pile on into a mentally disoriented populust free for all.

Interesting question. Do older candidates take a little something to perk them up? Modafinil is something that would do it. More alert and on point without anything noticeable going on other than more energetic than usual. Also seemingly no side effects from prolonged use.

Trump is very much against drugs but then again he is very much a getting an edge guy. I wonder what his reaction would be if it was suggested to him.

Biden wouldn't hesitate IMO. Nothing against that BTW.

Trump is very much against drugs?

What is this? A comedy routine?

He's been consuming drugs his whole damn life. He was huffing lines at Studio 54. Trump is a classic Hookers and Blow guy. He grinds up adderall and snorts it.

He doesn't drink or smoke

Jinx. Didn't see that before I posted.

The thing about speed freaks is they are very much switched on or off. The abuse the brain and the adrenals take from a lifetime of adrenaline spiking leads to cognitive failures which are pretty evident at this point. His syntax is fully disordered and betrays lack of actual thinking, just grasping for phrases floating around in his brain and stitching them together in real time.

He was always an illiterate buffoon, but the decline over ten years and during his term are striking. He could at least fake it before. Now he is rarely coherent.

The speed abuse, bad diet and golf cart exercise regimen is turning him into a vegetable. Biden is pretty weird at times, but we're dealing with a whole other order of decrepitude with Trump. He clearly had a stroke last Fall. His feet are prolapsed and his right side (leg and arm) no longer functions properly. We're just one more stroke away from Trump being completely incapacitated and as a lifelong junkie I expect him to continue to abuse uppers to counter his decline.

Looks like this claim was put to rest. That type of Sudafed isn't capable of delivering a high. Fake news.

Besides, it was 3 boxes so what. I ordered 4 boxes of the same supplement because it was cheaper that way.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/sudafed-trump-tower/

On Oct. 5, 2019, Twitter user JRehling published a thread that highlighted the Sudafed, identified it as a UK formulation, and then made these points as evidence of a nefarious drug-abuse problem:

“Sudafed is sometimes used for a high that includes increased alertness … but in order to limit its abuse, regulations were passed.”“The desk drawer full of Sudafed, including boxes in New York purchased in the UK indicate that the legal limits of purchase are being circumvented, and that the then-candidate Trump was abusing Sudafed for its high rather than its decongestant effect.”“The boxes include a type that is only sold in the United Kingdom, with a different box and distinctive ingredients not found in the U.S.”

These talking points, in turn, were repeated uncritically by several media outlets, most notably Inquisitr, which also suggested the Sudafed was an example of a broader pattern of stimulant abuse by the president. This argument, we show below, is flawed on numerous accounts.

“Sudafed is sometimes used for a high that includes increased alertness.”

Sudafed is a brand name for a series of nasal decongestant and cold medication products. Sudafed products generally come with one of two drugs as their active decongestant ingredient: either phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is the more powerful of the two chemicals, and it is this chemical that people sometimes abuse for a high or stockpile to make methamphetamine. As such, its use is regulated in the United States.

Taking at face value the reasonable-appearing claim proffered in that thread that the drugs in the drawer are the product “Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night” would suggest that the drug abuse claim is fatally flawed.

This formulation contains phenylephrine, which would mean that the drug Trump is allegedly abusing for a high is not capable of delivering such a high in the first place.

Trumps one card he’ll play is how your suburbs aren’t safe and antifa an blacks will burn your house down if the democrats win but it’s impossible to play that card with Kamala

And how Biden and Kamala are some far left socialists couldn’t be further from the truth but clearly as you’ve seen in this thread and in general there’s people dumb enough to believe it

I don't need these stories to confirm what I can see with my own eyes.

I've enjoyed a stimulant or three in my life.

Trump is using. No question about it.

He displays ALL the signs. He's a textbook example.

He's every assh*le who ever cornered you at a party, wound up on cheap blow.

Boasting. Sweating. Incoherent. Not able to stay on topic. Rambling. Eyes dilated yet he's standing under powerful TV lights. Chewing his words. I've hung around enough abusers to know.

I could go on.

I can never tell when someone is using anything unless they are whacked out.

Drunks I can tell easily, not drugs. I just think they are "odd."
