we should get the new 4 gm's and put you guys in a randomizer and then whoever gets who. Seems like the most fair way.
i'm good with that. i haven't even looked at the possible teams' rosters. more fun that way.
Don't
You'll just be mad when you don't end up with Indy.

It would be extremely difficult for Bish to organize all those bids and respond and update, even with 2 hour gaps set up. Having to monitor bids on a player like Giannis while also having to sift through bids for players like Austin Rivers, and possibly having bids for 200 different players sent in at the same time while looking to see if the bids are valid (especially when you include going over the cap for bird right players) makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
As much as we dont like it lists maybe the best way to go, what players to include in those lists would be a discussion and vote that likely would be required, but one way is to do list of 10-15 players (easier for Bish to monitor) by going with the highest ranked players put out first by using some website that ranks players such as https://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/top-current-nba-players. With lists you would still maintain your bird rights to players, and just require you to manage your cap space if your bird right player does not come out for bid till like day 4 or 5 if your are interested in re-signing them. Another way to determine what players come out first are, have players that have bird rights attached to them put out first (so a team does not miss out on other free agents if they cannot re-sign their own guy), you could still have a list of the highest ranked bird right players (to minimize the list to 10-15 players, if Bish thinks he can monitor more players, obviously you can increase the number of players in the list).

that's what i've gathered, but i still refuse to look at any team rosters. just want to know who i get, though. willing to wheel and deal.

Additionally, just want to throw this out there. If the league does continue, maybe instead of dealing with all the complications of the 2022 league reset, maybe it would make sense to relaunch as BaF 2.0
With GM's now having a better idea of financial ramifications to an initial auction draft, the salaries would be more responsible, the contract lengths would likely be staggered to offset another potential huge reset like we're due to embark on shortly, and with most GM's having a better handle on the SIM, team-building, the draft, etc., it may create more competitive balance.

I don't think we can go into the year with the assumption this is the last year. Then it becomes BAT and not BAF. It changes the entire dynamic of the game. The value of young players + Picks and valuable contracts go down the drain.
Whether or not we have support for the league in a year ultimately should decide if we can push through to year 6 IMO. The good thing is even though teams might not have had the best 5 year run, a majority of the league becomes FA's so plenty of room to make changes.
Obviously this is coming from the perspective of a team that it is on the up and up and resetting the league doesn't make sense from my perspective if there is enough support to just continue through. This year will play totally different, rookies this year will have zero to no value, future draft picks will 100% be worthless, trade will be compeltely altered because a guy locked up to 1 year will be the same as a guy on a 4-5 year deal currently.

This is pretty cool. I don’t mind starting over with a brand new franchise

Valid points here. I can definitely see and respect that angle. Me personally, I am cool either way. Just thought I'd throw what I brought up out there as a potential option. But I have no issues with continuing forward with the status quo and just making tweaks to aid Bish and lessen his load, along with making changes to the free agency period where all hell is due to break loose lol.

Yeah, I think both options (relaunch and status quo) have their positives. Thinking the interest waning among vets could be due to dissatisfaction with their squad. So I just threw it out there cuz maybe a relaunch would reinvigorate some cats who've began to lose interest.
But as previously stated, I'm cool either way. I'm committed regardless cuz despite not having deep playoff success, I'm still liking what I've done with my squad and have a good idea of how to get off this treadmill.
