He doesn't need to be some sniper as a shooter, all he needs to be is 34-38% from three, and he shot 35% from three over a 45 game stretch. Advanced stats like him, and at a time when forwards are valuable people here want to get rid of one that may actually be good if given the starting job.
The Hornets haven't even pulled Miles Bridges qualifying offer yet, that is how valuable these dudes are.
IF the Knicks are going to keep Randle and keep him for several years (not a given), but IF, and then Obi kind of gets capped at 20 mpg at best, then can't Paschall provide what Obi does (a variation, I get not the exact same kind of player) at least statistically0, in that 15-18 mpg role?
Obviously the issue here that Obi could reach his potential and blow up with minutes, but it's on another team
Randle isn't going to work with two ball dominant guards, especially since both of them are elite pick and roll players, any front office should just be able to look at Randle's game by now and see that. The underlying problem with the Paschall idea is what happens if/when Randle doesn't work, then what? You have no fall back plan, Paschall is not a starter and doesn't ever project out to being one, people want to criticize Obi for not being able to get minutes, well Paschall couldn't win minutes over Rudy Gay, Royce O'neale or Bo Cruz (Juancho).
This team should not be trading the only other PF on the roster with such uncertainty over Randle. Limited ways to restock the cupboard.
