OT: NY Yankees 2025 Season Thread (Hal is cheap, Brian is dumb)

I don't know what Luke Weaver did to Boone, but if we gave him an ounce of the favoritism we showed to Devin Williams, we'd be in much better shape.

I think it very hypocritical that Boone can find a way to waste Weaver against the 6-7-8 hitters and then find multiple ways for Williams to screw up against the heart of the Astros batting lineup and in big moments.

We gave Weaver that closer's job when Devin Williams was effing up and then didn't hesitate to yank it back when the first opportunity arose to let Devin Williams become a closer again. It's just gross.

Weaver - Closer
Bednar - Setup Man
Cruz when he comes back - Setup man
Doval/Leiter - holy eff, close your eyes, hope he doesn't eff up
De Los Santos - have no idea why Boone doesn't trust him
Tim Hill - the guy we leave on the bench when Devin Williams is screwing up the game
Devin Williams - mop up duty. Treat him like the position player who comes in to pitch when we're down 10 runs

Boone sticking by his ridiculous analytics, instead of reality and logic.

I dunno if he actually follows analytics tbh. He’s really bad at platooning Rice and Goldschmidt against righties/lefties.

But yea…the Yankees analytics team seems pretty suspect right now

He's got no instincts in setting the lineup or when to change pitchers. I can't wait until he's fired.

I've been a fan for 30 years. I started watching the Yankees regularly as a pre teen and this is the first time that I don't consider myself a fan of the team. I hate saying that but I just can't bring myself to root for this organization right now. I really hope things will change but what Cashman has done to this storied franchise and the fact that Hal continues to allow it, I just can't root for them the way I have always done in the past.

I will probably get some push back for saying this and perhaps I deserve some but remember, I've been a diehard fan for 30 years and it has taken a whole lot to shake my loyalty but I have finally reached that point. I don't want to hear anymore of Hal's year end state of the union address where he gives us more empty promises. I'm done with Boone's post game interviews and most of all I'm done with Cashman's smug arrogance.

Very clutch by Will Warren. I normally would caveat this win by saying its the Twins, but this Yankees team really doesn't have the luxury of looking down on anyone at this time. We can lose to anyone and we can lose in any way possible.

Man...it was a good night. Yankees win...Montas get benched, like I predicted months ago (and the Mets gave him a PO lollll). Clay Holmes is next...his choking hasn't even reached peak levels yet. They're going to try to move him to the bullpen, where he'll blow some more games

We need a complete coaching overhaul and frankly Cashman needs to go. We need leadership that can look at this roster and the farm system and provide solutions. This current group isn't doing that
