Keep in mind I'm only 17 so I'm not THAT experienced with the ladies but this is how it went down:

Background: I knew this girl since the beginning of the school year. Got really close to her really quickly. She's nothing special on the outside, but she's far from ugly. She has a really amazing personality and I just generally feel happier around her. I played EVERYTHING right from the start... felt some good chemistry. So in my h00d there was a carnival and she told me she was volunteering there at the game booths and she told me to come. So I thought that this was my chance...

Me: *walk up to her, say hi, etc etc etc*
Her: Play my game!
Me: *I play, waste a dollar*
Me: Hey what time does this thing end?
Her: Oh I dunno... around 10 or 10:30?
Me: What are you doing after?
Her: Oh probably nothing, why?
Me: Can I take you to the movies or to get some ice cream?
Her: Oh, actually, I think I'm supposed to go to my friends house...
Me: Oh, alright, call me let me know what's going on!
Her: OK

Still no text or call.

OUCH. And I see her EVERY day. I sit next to her in one of my classes. First time I got formally rejected like that. .....

hmm idk thats strange. Why would she ask you to come ifshe doesnt like you and if she liked you why she would backtrack after she said she wasnt doing anything. Maybe you took her by suprise? Is she a shy girl...maybe she isnt comfortable going out with someone by herself?

That's what I said, and you gotta make it nonchalant, and don't make it sound like you wanna take her on a date. Make it as if she didn't know it was a straight 1v1 date. Have her bring friends, while you bring yours, etc. I don't know many if any 17 year olds that go straight for the catch, on a 1 on 1 date to the movies. Normally, it's hanging out with both groups, and walking around, and just connecting.

That 17 excuse is bullshyt. Game has no age. I've seen 13 year old bag bitches like snap. Anyway it isn't you're fault fully. She doesn't like you like that. You should've called her on the lie too. And the way you said it was awkward. Instead of can I take you, you should've said Hey lets go chill and see a movie or hey lets go to Baskin Robbins. Girls are like horses, you can't just jump on and ride her without her feeling uncomfy and bucking. You have to pet her and make her feel nice and then she'll gain your trust and let u ride her around town.

well, like other people have said, you did it kind of awkwardly homey. I mean, I know what I said about games with girls, but girls do like those games to a certain extent- the does he or doesn't he like me stage- but you kind of put it all out there (like the proverbial big matzoh ball). maybe even phrasing it by dropping hints like "have you seen [thor] (or whatever movie)?" and if she responds that she'd wanted to see it you can bring up going together. I dunno, I guess even if both of you know what you mean, leaving yourself some plausible deniability also helps your ego a bit too.
