We're golden guys, my teams are apocalypse-proof. Union clinched the last European spot yesterday & the Avs can complete their sweep of STL before the knicks game even starts.

So like, we're pretty much good no matter what happens, right?

Like, as long as we don't completely sh*t the bed, even if we get bounced in the first round, this season is a success, yeah?
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Guitar. I got a call to run the house band at a weekly open jam night, starting tonight.

I just realized that I'm gonna miss Game 4 next Sunday, too. FML. If I didn't need the work to get back in shape for summer gigs I would have passed. That's show biz.

I will literally be moving around the city in a vehicle so I will be streaming the game to my phone praying not to hit any signal deadspots...

I actually lost work because of 1999 finals run....

The NBA players nowadays are just unlikeable. If they ain't in your team there is no reason to like them.

WHat's not to like about
Ju - a great family guy, remade his whole game
RJ - impeccable pedigree, hard worker, great character and additive
Quick - gotta love Quick! Great guy and unexpectedly valuable player.

And so on and so on. NO malingerers, crazies, criminals, druggies, or bad guys.

Even the one player I really can't stand is reportedly a decent guy the resto of the team really likes.

No. Hawks are a more talented team but we have the best coach and the best defense in the NBA to avoid a first round exit. I expected this team to make the playoffs the second Tom Thibodeau was hired despite everyone thinking we were a lottery team. Great defense gives us a chance to win on any given night.

Oh yeah, well how many of them had to walk uphill (both ways) through 10 miles of snow just to get to school?

An upward moving target like that is not only tough to hit but increasingly difficult to mobilize a whole population around. This doesn’t even consider the reality that
this threshold has to be reached globally, not just in the developed economies as it is today. So, I sort of applaud the practicality of the scientific approach now to view the vaccination as a way to slow down and make the disease manageable rather than expect to entirely eliminate it.

I live in apart of the world where there is practically zero tolerance, so the slightest uptick in cases triggers lockdowns. With the world being interconnected the way it is, it’s been difficult to grasp how the apparent end goal of elimination of cases meshes with the likelihood of either full isolation from the rest of the world or global elimination of the virus. These decision trees and the ultimate “correct path” will be something worth digging through 10-15 years from now.

Agreed. We wiped out smallpox and mostly polio, but not Flu or Coronavirus. I've seen that the 25% that refuse vaccines are consistent throughout Western countries and China. So are you in Singapore, Taiwan, or Japan?

In the Sing Sing. I feel like refusal is a global phenomenon, I’ve had conversations with folk that think eating lots of fruits and vegetables provides better protection than a vaccine. Good meaning folk that otherwise seem worldly. Mask wearing has not been an issue, and the availability of disinfectant at pretty much every doorway imaginable indicates the willingness of folk to take preventative measures. Vaccines just seem to be something else for I’m sure myriad reasons. I guess we’ll have to see how it all goes.

Awesome - glad I finally know someone who lives there. I have friends in Taiwan and Japan, and although my wife is Asian, the kids live in NYC so I can't even think of moving. (Well, I've thought of it.) But hope to travel there one day when pandemic restrictions are gone.

This morning when I went out, it was awesome not needing to wear a mask. People in my neighborhood always says "Good Morning!" to strangers, something that didn't happen when we all wore masks (or avoided those who didn't). I love what the vaccines have done so far - my entire family is vaxxed and no side effects, no COVID. That said, I may use a mask during cold and flu season on subways and crowded areas. No need to tempt fate - I want to see my grandchildren grow up one day!

And to live long enough to see the Knicks dominate!

Right home court, having the better coach, and believe or not this extra week to rest might be the difference makers for us. I still wouldn't be suprised if this goes 7 games though....

He’s one of the worst. He used to be one of the best but not anymore. It’s been documented his struggles with players names and the actual plays that are happening (I.e. 3’s vs 2’s). I think it’s a large part of why he’s retiring after this postseason.

lol sorry for saying anything. I'll leave you to your freshly googled wisdom

It doesn't provide immunity and it doesn't prevent spread. Therefore it is not a vaccine. Thanks for playing. Words have definitions.

A scientific understanding of what you posted from Google shows that the Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J products are most certainly vaccines.

The word itself, "vaccine," came from the vaccinia virus. This was the first vaccine, and it was the administration of an entirely different virus to protect recipients against smallpox - a vaccination all people received until the disease was eradicated. So it wasn't even the same virus that we were protecting against that was used to "vaccinate" us. All of us, until the disease died out.

EDIT: sorry, I just realized the Nyets game was on ESPN, not TNT. To me, all non-MSG broadcasts are not good until proven otherwise. We will find out about Sprero & Co. soon enough...
